Yep, they are right in line with the other 80% of worthless spells for the other classes.

EDIT: I'm not kidding, there are maybe 3 viable spells for a sorcerer of all things. They arew a casting class by name, and they have lackluster spells as well.

yea its really sad, you literaly cannot be a pure caster in ds3, their is 0 ballance, and made worse a huge chunk of the dammage based spells are locked away in the last 2 area's of the whole game :/
and all the viable caster builds require a min of level 120+, i shouldnt have to be in ng+ to be able to play a caster...

I use Black Fire Orb against fire resistant enemies. It's okay, but the dark spells aren't really that spectacular.

You have all those reskinned/renamed spells that do the same damage or crappy damage with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ delay. Lazy bastards indeed. Put magic just for the sake of it and then nerf it to death. They basically raped offensive miracles. Just delete them altogether from soft.

Black orb is actually decent in pve in these situations where chaos fire orb and chaos bed vestiges are not enough. Pyromancy overall is pretty good right now imo.

I agree with everything you just said, black orb s best basicaly as a pyro means to bypass fire res enemies, and atm pyromancy imo is the only viable magic
