How do effects like poison and bleed work on my weapons?
Here for instance it says "Additional effects, 39 poison". Is that 39 poison damage? Is that 39% of a full "poisoned" bar per hit? How is that relevant to making someone have the poison effect given they have 0 resistances?

I figure my quick attacking, but low damage twin daggers could be a bit better if the enemy is also poisoned.

That '39 poison' thing determines how much of your enemy's 'poison build up bar' (invisible to you) is filled up per hit. Really doubt it's a percentage though.

Now if only I had a number on how much it takes to poison someone.

Poison is very weak anyway, but Bleed works.

It's just 39 Bleed points, not a percentage.
Resistance to status effects in this game raises the threshold at which they activate, it doesn't reduce the actual build-up.

Think of it like another HP bar you have to empty to get the Blood Loss effect.

Okay, but I would need to know the threshold to see if the effect is actually worth it. Like if I'm doing 39 bleed points per hit and they have 200,000 bleed point threshold, not really worth halving my weapon damage. If they have 200 bleed points, that's more worth it.

poison/bleed builds also work wonders at 40 luck. one build i was using for a bit was 40 luck, wardens twinblade with hollow infusion and carthus rogue buff. causes bleed buildup super quick.

Well different things have different thresholds.

Bosses can take 10 hits, certain enemies can be bled in 2 hits.

I will say that the status build up in this game is very high, and I can bleed another player in PvP 3-4 times in my stamina bar with Brigand Twindaggers.

Yeah I saw somewhere luck effects statuses like poison and bleed. I have base luck, never upgraded it. 11. I imagine it's still viable.

Yeah that's the weapon I'm using. Does bleed effect wear off very fast? Also how much stamina do you have?
Sabata The One Apr 23, 2016 @ 10:11am
The highest threshold is probably again somewhere around 500, but noone is going for that. Count with around 200 and the depletion of the bar between attacks and you Land at around 10 Hits for the bleed to proc

30 END

It wears off as fast as it wears off on you.
Go to Farron Keep, get some poison build-up, there's your answer.

On the wiki it says the bleed stat of weapons is the percentage of health removed once bleed begins.

If that's true, then you need to invest in some Luck.
The build up is fast either way. :|

39% is a lot of health. Someone with high luck, what does the number on your bleed weapon effect say?

45 I think. I'll have a check.

I can tell you that it is not 50. I bleed people twice in a row all the time.

Oh and of course, bleed doesn't work like that on bosses.
If you're doing PvE with this, know that bosses take like 500 damage from bleed, the equivelant of about 2 straight sword hits.

Well it would be 50% of their current health, not total, so if you bled them 2 times from full health you'd really do 75% of their health
