A weappon for a battlemage
Just started playing Dark Souls 3 and got past Vordt. Am intending on doing a battlemage (minimum requirements to use claymore/longbow as it's the first bow one gets if they didn't start as thief, or uchigatana. sorceries will be used as a supplement). Just wondering if the uchigatana or the claymore would be better crystal infused. Or any other weapon.

Bestoc would be a good choice.

You get a pretty good rapier from a boss soul later, and it has INT scaling.

It sounds almost like they just want a weapon for a buff build though. A bow isn't really needed if you're using offensive spells.

Not weapon related but you're definately gimping yourself if going part sorcery. It now has reverse scaling (faith as well). Pyro is a far better option as a supplement, as it requires less stat investment to be useful and still has warrior style buffs etc. Try going 15/15 faith/int with pyro to complement your warrior. trust me you will be unstoppable. PVE-wise anyway...

He's talking about infusing his weapon, and you can't buff a weapon if it's infused. It's not like ds2, it's back to ds1 rules in that regard

You can buff infused weapons if they have a physical infusion. IE: Raw, Refined.

Crystal being the key word there

Okay. have a sample build based off knight as starting class:
SL 80 (Have no idea what the low "meta" soft cap is)
VIG 20
ATN 24
END 20
VIT 15
STR 14 (For Crest Shield)
DEX 20 (For casting purposes- Using Uchigatana-probably crystal infused. Will righthand the staff)
INT 40 (The low softcap)
FTH 9
LCK 7

Don't really see anything wrong there. If you're doing this for pvp I'd put another 10 points in vigor though, its soft cap is at 27
