On my thief playthrough i went through the entire game with bandit knife and i found myself pleasantly surprised at how well it did.
OP, you might wanna look a bit into the twin-daggers.
I'm grinding up some titanite chunks to do some testing against the Sharp Dagger+10, Sharp Bandit Knife +10, and Bleed Bandit Knife +10.
I'm going to compare the bleeding damage on the two bandit knives, I don't know if the weapons bleed stat is how much damage it does, or how quickly it builds, or both. I've got a sharp dagger +10 and bloody bandit knife+10, just need to get the last one.
The damage for the bandit knife isn't high to begin with, so it might be better to focus on the bleed aspect, and carthus rouge would help, but again there's no info if the rouge increases the DAMAGE or just how quick it builds. I'll let you guys know later.
From what I notice, Carthus Rouge gives a crazy amount of bleed build up, i was able to make someone bleed in 3-4 hits. Then again they might of just had low resistances. I don't know if infusing bleed effects the percent of damage, i think it effects the amount of build up? Im completely clueless about it tbh. If its like DS1, if weapon says has Aux 31 Bleed, is that 31% of their max hp? Or is that number just the amount of bleed build up applied?
Thats what I'm going to be testing. The Sharp Bandit knife has 36 bleed right now, but it's only at +6, so it will get higher when I max it to +10. Conversely the Bleeding +10 dagger has 45 bleed on it. Because the scaling on both is C for Dex, the damage isn't gonna get reduced a ton, maybe 30 attack rating total? Dunno.
I'm going to respec to a 40/40 Dex Luck, Currently I'm a 50/30 dex/luck, I think the points from 40-50 don't give enough of a bonus, so I'm gonna reallocate them to luck to see if that helps.
It is, however, reduced by the enemy's armor and resistances. So it will vary from enemy type to enemy type.
What this would imply, is that the bleed rating on a weapon is only how quickly it stacks up, if the breakpoint is 200 due to the enemy's resistance, a bleed 45 weapon will take 5 strikes, and a bleed 35 weapon will take 6.
That does seem... reasonable, I still have to test however
Wiki says bleed on weapon counts towards more bleed dmg so infusing bleed will bleed out more, luck increases the amount of bleed build up. Wiki can be wrong though
I can bleed him out in 2 hits from a sharp bandit knife. I'll be able to see how much damage I do fairly easy with that. I'll try 4 different ways. Sharp bandit Knife, Bloody bandit knife, Sharp bandit knife + carthus Rouge, Bloody + carthus rouge.
In THEORY, if the rouge gives +45 bleed, I should be able to bleed him every hit with both daggers.
But I Have to finish farming up shards to make them both +10
