Why is lightning blade so USELESS?!

Started to grind to get 30 faith. Finally got it thought lightning blade would be better than my flame blade but it's just 10 AP better. What the ♥♥♥♥ is the point of having lightning blade have such a high requirement if the pay off isn't even close to good enough? I basically just wasted 2 million souls and now how to respect garbage balance.

I think all the weapon buffs were suitably balanced in this game they were over powered as ♥♥♥♥ in 1 and 2 frankly the fact that everyone came to rely upon them in ds2 was part of the thing that ruined pvp because everyone essentially had the same build. In ds3 it seems the weapon buffs only are really worth it if you use them on something thats actually weak to the element you apply.

I'd say they went overboard tho. Not really worth the stat investment now. At all.
All magic is kinda underwhelming in this.

magic has ups and downs just like weapon type, if you go with only ONE TYPE of weapon or magic, you will fail

Do you honestly think a 30 faith requirement is good balancing? Carthus flame arc only requires 10 faith and 10 int and it's only 10 less AP. You're basically paying 20 levels just for lightning element on your weapon. That's objectively not worth.
