How to join Mound Makers after killing Greatwood boss?

If you can't access the pit through the cage or the guy is already dead at the bottom of the pit complete Sirris's questline to gain access to the covenant. That or wait til NG+.

you have to do sirris of the sunless realm quest line, until you join her to kill her grandfather at pit of hollow bonfire, youll join it automatically, and dont join rosaria finger because it will make sirris your enemy and cancel her questline making it imposible to join mound maker
