Illusions (Light Blue Phantoms)
As you explore the game, you will catch glimpses of other players who are in the same place at the same time. These will look like the phantom images you see when you activate a bloodstain, but will represent actual "live" players who are traveling through their own game worlds in real time. They cannot be interacted with directly, although it is possible to gesture at one another should the mood strike.
Bonfire Phantoms
Near bonfires (and only near them), the above phantoms of other players may appear more distinct and visible than elsewhere in the game, showing all of their equipment and even whether they are in human form or not. Seeing other people resting at the same bonfire helps players realize that these people are probably facing the same challenges. Testing suggests you are also more likely to see distinct phantoms of those players at or very close to your own level, giving you a helpful sense of how active the area is at your level if you wish to place a summon sign at that bonfire, or look for signs to summon help.
Fextra really didn't say too much about it (ghosts) on their DS3 page, but I doubt the formula has changed that much from DS1 to DS3.
No..
As I stated previously, they may be relatively recent, but I highly doubt it's exactly current.
There's no dedicated server, and it always takes time to spawn into another players game or them into yours.
To the person claiming they were interacting with them, that's just not probable.
They may be online currently, but what I'm saying is that when you see them by that fire, I doubt they are actually right there at that exact moment.
Anyway, never take a wiki at face value, wikis are written by random people, anyone has the ability to change information, and not all of them are properly fact checked before being posted.
How are you interacting with a silhouette?
1:1 real time representation is not likely.
Its a bit Confusing at the Start, specialy with Multiplayer.
Here a little Clue:
When you are "glowing" after fighting a boss or using Ember, you are able to call other Players into your Game by using their Callsigns, which they painted on the ground with a white soapstone (buy at shrine maiden)
Golden Call signs mean the other Player belongs to the Warriors of Sun and they want to help you, they cant do harm to you,and when you beat a Boss they get an ember as Reward and return in their own World
Purple Callsigns are from Dangerous Players,Mad Phantoms. When you call them they will very likely attack you since its a PvP Callsign
And white Callsigns are friendly too, this Players could belong to the Blue Path for example.
When you are "Glowing" other Players also can Invade your Game and try to kill you.
You can use the Covenant of the Blue Path (you before you do the Boss of High Walls of Lothric Level) ,then when you get invaded,a Player who uses Covenant of the Blue Guardians will be called into your Game to protect you and attack the other enemy Player which invaded you.
When you wanna get called into other Players Game, buy a White Soapstone (endless useable) at the Fireshrine Handmaiden for 500 Souls, then use it and paint your Callsighn, best close to a Campfire
I hope this helped you a bit ;)
When you wanna play together with a specific Person, you booth must set the same Password in Options
Btw do you know how you get the Ember on the Roof and the Snake Ring?
Its the most helpfull thing a new Player need to know ;)
When you are in the Shrine Main Entry, walk right upstairs and then go out trough the open Gates. Then you run up a Stair and find a locked Tower...close to that Tower is a Tree.
You can spring up that tree and from that tree jump on the Roof.
On the Roof you find a entry into the Ceiling of the Shrine, and there is a Estus Shard which makes your Flask bigger. When you run over the Timber Beams to where the main Throne is,you see a Wall. That wall is fake, when you attack it,it disapears.
Go trough and to the end,to the right you will find a Chest with the Snake Ring, which gives you more Souls then normal for every killed Enemy.
With this 2 Items you have a much better faster Start.
And its best to start with the naked Guy,i dont know the English Name,in German its Bettler, which would mean "beggar"...cause the Awesome thing is...he has all stats on 10...but he is Level 1.....and since the Soul Cost get higher from level to level, you can get incredible cheap level ups.
Other Classes start with level 5 or 8 or 10 or so,and they already need like 800 souls or so for their first level up,while the beggar can level up for like 150 souls or so,cause he levels from level 1 to 2 which is much cheaper then from 10 to 11 or so...and since he starts with everything on 10...you can make very strong charackters with him
And the Club you get as start is a good Weapon which staggers enemys and makes it easy to kill them....
