Can you make a Whip Build:?
I really enjoyed whip, is it viable or just bad?

If you're going for dex, making the whip sharp infused will scale nicely. I do not have a starting class or any specific number for stats, but it feels like using the standard whip would be for low level invasions 30-50. I have not experimented with witches locks but yeah I've seen it in action.

I like spell buffs like Lightning blade and Carthus Arc (Flame weapon), pine resins and bundles can do the same thing for you though.

using a shield that utilizes the skill of the weapon can bust out Impact after a hit, so you can combo with it, chain a few hits, but this weapon is hard to secure kills with, because chugging. Infusing a skill-shield with Simple will replenish FP for reusing Impact. It's great when you guard break and then crit them.

add weapons you can do good criticals with, either mail breaker or something, and use a parrying tool aside from the skill-shield.

As a Belmont/Undead Hunter, I bring throwing knives, firebombs, Undead charms(a must) and pine bundles (quick buff) to every fight.

I almost won a 3v1 utilizing the 1handed heavy charge attack. it's wide range is sexy in pve and pvp.

RINGS: Definitely use the Carthus milkring for dex boost, knightslayer ring for attacking stamina, you can stack the horsehoof ring with that too, anything else might be the usual niceties, like chloranthy or havel ring.

this, the pyro build + witches locks whip does indeed hit "super hard". i couldn't believe the damage i was seeing from a whip type weapon. as for the other whips in the game, not sure. the one you find in the cathedral of the deep is decent but the first one you find is utter trash. there are more out there like the spotted whip but i have not found it yet so can't comment on that one and others if there even are others.

A sharp notched whip is probably your best bet on a dex build at least that way you can get bleed damage, just get both your dex and luck high and use carthus rouge and it's at least a good bleed weapon. Not very high A.R. though probably low 300ish at 40 dex and +10 but good range and high bleed ability.

It's just those four, I believe. Witch's locks is pretty good, but I don't like it in pve. Doesn't stagger silver knights, no parry attacks or backstabs, that sort of thing. In pvp, it's a great weapon to force people to play more aggressively, due to the insane range on its special. Mix it with chaos fireball lava patches to keep your opponent away, too.

Great! this witches locks whip sounds fun! How should my stats be in order to make it efficient? I`m mostly concerned about pve, I like going through new game + a few times

I have a cosplay I always do that's a DEX pyro, and she's not done... BUT, 30 Dex, 25/25 INT/FTH hits 500s with the weapon art, staggers on the Art start-up, can roll-tech, can't be parried, has great range, and doesn't bounce off of walls, making it good for setting traps on chasing invaders.

Maybe Whip<Witches locks when you use the skill. +100 fire damage when activated.

The Witch's Locks is really good with pyros because of the reach and innate fire power. You can even hold down the R2 to charge it and fool rolls into getting hit.

I use them with the minimum dex and a 40/40 pyromancer build. Might want a secondary weapon that can parry and backstab, too.

This might be a great alternative to my lightning buffed whip, time to reengineer my character!

invited, i have one very powerful build with whip
Bradderfield May 8, 2016 @ 9:00pm
Let's hear it, Soul of Cinder. If you please
As a backup weapon for parry fishers, it's nice. Not very viable on it's own though. I want to make a Simon Belmont yet.
