Pierce Shield
For a small shield, this shield is actually surprisingly really good when upgraded to +9 or +10 (depending on if you want to use a slab or not).

Now I'm not saying it's an amazing shield and everyone should use it because there's shields with better elemental protection, and can be overall better if you really want to turtle, plus a lack thereof parry really does hurt it.

However at around +5 it exceeds an un-upgraded Silver Knight Shield's stability. Around +7 - +8 it exceeds an un-upgraded Cathedral Knight Greatshield's stability (which is about 63) at +10 it gets 65 in stability which is 5 points higher then a Black Knight shield, and only 4 points less then a fully upgraded Black Knight (which requires Twinkling Titanite) and is a whole 4 points less in weight then the shield itself.

I dunno, maybe I'm just pulling at straws here... But... All I'm saying is, just become an onion.

Just gonna bump this and spread the awareness a tad more

I tried this for a while. Ehh...it was okay. While I certainly didn't miss the parry (I have NEVER figured out the timings with PvP lag taken into account, and reasonably parriable enemies are also reasonably backstabbed), the long startup for the L2 along with it only shielding you only after the charge has actually started makes it very unreliable for protective purposes due to how telegraphed it is, plus it leaves you open to a backstab. If the startup delay were much shorter, or if the startup would at least block attacks as well as the charge, it would be much more useable.

I agree fully on the ability in and of itself, if it only came out just a tad bit faster I would find it to be a lot more handy/

However since I've written this post I've gotten a ton of practice with my Onion Knight build (essentially just a strength build with an assload of vitality 55, and vigor 45, with FaP ring, Havel's, Prisoner's, and Wolf Ring) that surprisingly the end lag after the shield charge is over is very little to non-existant and you can follow up relatively well afterwards.

I've used it as a baiting tool where people think they can come in for a quick strike on me, only to get a smack in the face with my heavy weapon, or at the very least I hyper armor through it.

And trust me utilizing things as baiting tools against people in this sort of build is relatively handy because I've noticed most people don't want to get in too close to me.

However as a quick way to protect yourself from a blow you may take, as well as having relatively high stability while taking miniscule damage from the attack itself makes this a fairly good "under dog" sorta weapon, iunno.
