PS4 CONTROLLER - DS4 Windows Issue (FIXED)

It's only picking up my touchpad, not my buttons? Anyone have this issue before?


EDIT: I've fixed this issue by completely deleting/uninstalling DS4 Windows and reinstalling it after. Making no changes to anything, except for the "Hide Ds4 Windows" Option, which may not even be necessary for some people.

1. Exit Steam.
2. Exit Any Controller Mapping Program.
3. Start DS4 Windows.
4. Start Steam.
5. It will work, if not try to Hide DS4 Windows.

- Also I should note that Inputmapper would not work for me. I'm using a PS4 Controller, Wired.

Well there's your problem. You're using DS4 windows, which is obsolete. Use input Mapper, it's a better upgraded DS4 Windows. Or for simplisity sake, the original DS4 Tool (if not using windows 10). https://inputmapper.com/index.php/downloads/category/2-input-mapper

Not sure if this is a guranteed fix, but what you may want to do is this:

1. Start DS4Windows without steam being active yet.
2. In DS4Windows, go to setting and check the box that says "Hide DS4 Controller" to turn it on
3. Start Steam
4. Play DS3 with controller hopefully

I don't know if this will work. I've never yhad it only detect my touchpad, but this method works for me everytime so maybe it'll work for you.

Yes this was happening, My EDIT above was the solution. Now it works perfectly fine, hope it helps.
