Early game chime?

I can't seem to find any. I heard you can get one from an undead cleric in the cemetery of ash? I've been grinding there but no luck.

literally the first bonfire in the game, just kill the skeletons in black robes and one will drop a sacred clerics chime. Its very common i can get like a dozen in an hour if i wanted.

As soon as you beat "stray demon" later in the game use his soul to trade for a crystal sages rapier sword, even if you dont have the stats to wield it properly just leave it in your left hand and 2 hand your main.. It gives you a massive +50 item discovery rate even if not held. Then you can use a rusted coin for another +30 item discovery

But even without those items you should still find one very quickly

you can buy one from the vendor in firelink bonfire probs not great but will do untill a better one drops,

i didn't know the crystal rapier gave that much luck on it's own... good to know, since my main character for dark souls 3 uses all types of rapiers for his current build.
