Can't get past farron keep swamp due to fear of slugs
Molluscophobia is a real thing, look it up. Anyway, it doesn't help that they hite the slugs in the swamp, making me jump every time I go there.

Is the area neccesary for full completion of the game?

PD: I miss spiders in DS3. Yea, the white.. hairy spiders were epic, but at least some spider boss with that EPIC style we got in normal spider enemies...

Also some scorpion enemy or boss...

too many humanoid enemies and bosses

You could try killing them from a distance with a bow if you can stomach looking at them from a distance.

What is the phobia name for "ass clenching when out of Estus carrying lots of souls and looking for the next bonfire but there's enemies in the way"-phobia. That's what I get.

I can understand the phobias. Phobia about slugs? No. You have phobia about a slug jumping at our face .About touching one. About a slug inside your mouth. But you don't have phobia about a digital slug, a bunch of PIXELS. You cannot.

Just turn the tables. You can duel giant slugs with a giant weapon as a vengeance for all the phobia they gave to you, without the risk of, you know, fighting REAL slugs. Those won't touch your skin or.. well, they cannot even hurt you in real live, in the game they can do you nothing, other than then fun of killing them with your character and maybe lose that phobia.

Pls stahp

That's a bit rude mate. Just because something is digital doesn't mean it can't affect you physically. Tryingto avoid spoilers I can tell you that I actually shuddered when I faced my first centipede-like enemy due to how creepy the design was and how immersive the game is.

Not to mention certain *ahem* "shouting" enemies in an initially dead-quiet area. My heart was proper pumping when I met the first one. I can definitely see how people with phobias would actually be unable to deal with these things. Plus a phobia is a medical condition, it's not "lack of courage". If something triggers it, it triggers it period

It's called "I forgot to buy homeward bones" phobia.

I understand phobias and stuff (i have myself some... illogical issue, i know and understand it's everything in my mind, but it just won't change), but phobias comes from real stuff. In slugs case, even if real-life slugs can cause you phobia, they dont do by themselves.

You don't have phobias about slugs, but about what can they do to you in real life (not a lot, but meh).

You dont have height phobia, but phobia about falling from height places.

You dont have spider phobia, but phobia from spiders biting you, touching you, poisoning you, or just you BEING SURROUNDED by real spiders.

But these are just pixels. You KNOW nothing will hapen you. Just-nothing. I can understand someone with a phobia.. approaching slowly... feeling uncomfortable. But at some point you have to realise they are pixels that will do nothing to you, and take this even as an opportunity to defeat your phobia smashing slugs with a hammer, or at least getting strength in the game. They are pixels.

It's true about scares, unexpected shoutts in dead-quiets areas and stuff, and i can understand that you get YOUR ASS SCARED when an unexpected slug you have a phobia from appears, but when you see the slug in the distance, you expect him, and you know its just pixels... you can walk across, even running, and gg

PD: I LOVE MONSTER AND WEIRD ENEMIES AND BOSSES. The centipede in DS1, gargoyles, freja spider, the rotten so epic, smelter demon, demon of song even, DARKLURKER.. i miss enemies like those in DS3. Also animals like the executioner chariot

you can sprint through it with the special move of the dagger, but well, on the other side, you can use this problem to fight that fear man, you won't find giant slugs in the real world, so killing giant slugs will maybe help you with the little slugs you can see outside the game
Tanchyon Apr 20, 2016 @ 8:54am
If it was earlier I would clear all the slugs for you, but heading to bed now. If you still have troubles let me know on steam tomorrow but I'm sure someone will have helped you by then.

Sadly for you I don't think Fromsoft had Molluscophes in mind when designing Farron Keep
kNIGHT Apr 20, 2016 @ 9:01am
Should we tell the OP about the molluscs in the catacombs?

They are the same enemy OP is talking about in Farron Keep. So yes the slimes / molluscs / things.
