Greataxe any good?

Is it worth it to use the Greataxe? Massive damage, but it's slow and inaccurate. http://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Greataxe

I tried it, but I honestly liked other str weapons better, the great axe has such poor range.

Fume Ultra Greatsword or one of the machete weapons (they use most of the axe move set but longer range)

I used the Greataxe in DS1, but I hate it a lot in DS3.
It's a 50 pound toothpick in terms of range.

I'd recommend the Dragonslayer Greataxe instead. It has better range and an amazing weapon art (large lightning AOE for big damage)

If you're not that far in the game yet, grab the Butcher's Knife from Maneater Mildred in the Road of Sacrifices. Has an A scaling in strength, good range, good speed, and decent moveset. The only problem with the Knife is that it can't be infused since it has an innate ability, but it's what I used as my first guy for the longest time.

I've been using Vordts (sp) hammer and butcher knife. The clubs I also liked better, bigger range for jump attacks. Just my personal preference though, only real way to know is to try it out.

None of those are that amazing in pvp though, but sometimes as a phantom I can surprise people with jump attacks. Had the pure joy of jump attacking someone to death just as they were about to chug

I did ng with great axe and its really good and strong weapon. But I like other weapons like Yhorm great machete more.
