dont compare something normal to something op
Whoever came up with this game concept needs to kill themselves because they've managed to ruin something that is so simple.
Then I shot a couple arrows and saw I was doing worse damage than just about any other bow in the game.
I'd rather have the dark magic of DS1 back than this garbage.
Sorcery in particular has always been a mixed bag, usually requiring a huge investment for comparitively little payoff compared to miracles, or especially pyromancy. Or even just smacking a dude in the face with a sword. Even in PVP, I never saw a sorcerer and went "Oh, this will be a hard fight" I'd go "Oh man this is fun" and then smash his face in when he tried to cast a spell.
At least you have some easy way to recover spells now. In prior games items that restored spell uses were relatively rare and if you ran out during an important fight you had to choose between using your small stockpile of spell restoring items and hope nothing harder came up before you hit the next rest point, or trying to go into melee. And god help you if you ran into an invader and ran out of spells.
dude you want to get stun locked always? becose thats how you'd get stun locked always....
about magic. it was super underpowered even in Dark Souls 2.
some people (noobs) complained about magic being OP and it just got randomly nerfed.
its not like you could easily roll out of any damaging spell, or you could get some magic damage absorption if you can't roll properly. or even use a shield. there were plenty of shields with 100% absorbtion, you could get 100% absorption to a single magic type even without shield, its like ok dude let me adjust my rings and you do 0 damage to me. good luck with your limited casts that don't even do enough damage to kill me anyway.
I played a battle mage had like 70% absorption to all and it was fun fighting a mage in pvp. even if hit me with crystal soul spear it would do like 300 damage max to me and that was if he hit me.
and they nerfed magic even more in Dark Souls 3 now you dont even have to roll to dodge spells you can walk away and they got their damage nerfed... i just switched to physical damage its much easyer to play and more relyable.
