Non-parry shields are pretty pointless in PvP; dodging is really the only way to do things.
Blocking in general is pretty ineffective in Dark Souls 3; the game really wants you to roll.
I'll one up the game and just go straight to Bloodborne, if that's the case. No wonder I don't remember ever doing a medium shield run in 3.
it's mostly about spammy weapons and getting caught in ongoing attacks
i use a medium shield on my lothric knight character and i only block the first attack if its not an ultra weapon, and try to parry the second attack because people think they're gonna guard break me in the next attack(which is true but i just parry them instead) it works wonders for greatswords, axes and similar non-superfast weapons
Dark Souls 3 in general is just so much less varied than previous games; even Dark Souls 2 had better variety in its combat, and that game was ass. Everything feels the same, and it gets boring incredibly quickly.
Best shield in the game.
Bloodborne's PVP was an afterthought, but for what it was worth it was okay. I had a blast playing the PVP. At least you could escape being caught in an infinite combo.
I only use one actual shield, and it's on a joke build that only uses a Greatshield. It's like the game is telling us "Welp, it's all or nothing."
It's got the best general absorption, but I'm talking about stamina depletion. It seems medium shield in general are terrible fr PVP purposes.
Thats basically a greatshield.
Refresh me on that. So stability is how much stamina damage it can absorb?
Edit: shield of want has 58 stability, I don't see the difference.
more stability = less stamina consumption on blocking attacks
I have no idea haha
