That being said, I look forward to eventually playing DS 2 and DS 1 because of all these posts talking about how they are better.
So for me... it's all win win
totally agree withthe negative points you are mentioning, but no dark souls 3 is not the worst. it has, like all of the soulsborne games its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of problems.
the way i see it, each one of the games has a different feel to it and which one of them you like more is mostly preference, simple as that.
dark souls 1 was my first souls game and it was an incredible experience i will never forget, but the game and pacing after obtaining the lord vessel was not very good nor interesting.
dark souls 2 was initially a huge disappointment for me and i thought it was really "meh". i still played a ridiculous amount of hours given the fact that i found it to be mediocre. after 400 hours or so i rage quit it. came back to it after some months, did some challenge runs and totally fell in love with the game. i love dark souls 2, it just is not the experience dark souls 1 provided. thats neither better nor worse, ds2 is simply a game where it's fun to just play the game itself and do all the things possible in it.
bloodborne... well here is the thing: lots of people love bloodborne to death and would rate it over ds2 and 3. i found it to be incredibly boring. its all there, i love the setting, love the boss designs, love the lore and the soundtrack is one of my favorites in general. but it simply didn't click with me. i played 30 hours of it and will most likely never touch it again, i just wanted it to end by the time i reached gherman.
so for me bloodborne is the worst out of all of them, but that does not nessecarily mean that it is a worse game than the other 4.
dark souls 3 really has alot of areas where it is simply lacking and i really am glad that there won't be a dark souls 4 in the near future. but i have over 200 hrs and counting in it and there simply is lots of fun to be had, so many little things i still discover despite having played it alot.
TLDR:
it is not the best of the series, it is not the worst of the series, all of them provide a diferent experience in my opinion and which one you like the most is simpl up to you and is not objective.
worst pvp
everything imbalanced
pretty short
7/10 for me
I'll never understand this mentality. I can understand why some people would think DS2 is not the best in the series. I can even understand why some people think DS2 is the least enjoyable of the bunch. I will never, however, understand how so many people think DS2 is a "Terrible game." Do you not know what a "terrible game" is? Superman 64 was a terrible game. Ride to Hell was a terrible game. Dark Souls 2 was selected as game of the year and received a 91 on Metacritic, receiving 9's and 10's from most reviewers. The idea that DS2 is a "terrible game" is absurd hyperbole that keeps getting spread by trolls and annoying fanboys of other games in the series.
Miyazaki has confirmed that he is fully focused on developing new IP's for Fromsoft and that he is working on 3 different games at the moment. I think it is safe to assume that whatever From releases next will be unique.
yes and no. he's already confirmed another fantasy rpg series. much like bloodborne to dark souls me thinks.
and another armored core (yay)
he did also mention if others want to do ds4 that's fine, so no surprise is we get a ds2 B team style game again (I hope)
