Is Dark Souls 3 one of the worst in the souls series?
Now please don't come in with angry and hateful comments, this is just an opinion and make sure you read this whole post before posting anything.

I honestly don't know where to start. I was really hyped for this game, thought it would be amazing for the last soul game of the series. At first I thought it would have been better than dark souls 2, but I guess I was wrong.
First time I played it, I was extremly excited after playing Dark Souls 1, Dark Souls 2 and bloodborne. But there was something lacking in 3. The game seems to be extremly linear, atleast in the very beginning.
You know how dark Souls 1 and Dark souls 2 had alot of ways to progress in the beginning areas? That's what I miss. And wish that it had new enemies once you enter ng+, that's what Dark Souls 2 has done right.
I kinda also miss that you could literally create any build in dark Souls 2 but not in this one.

And one more thing I want to mention, so many hackers are now in the game and the whole community seems to be dead already. Playing dark souls 2 and 1, I seen more players active than in 3.
Which sums it up that Dark Souls 3 might be one of the worst in the souls series. Sure it has amazing enviroment designs and alot of a blast in the past from Dark souls 1 which got me excited. but overall, I just don't seem to enjoy it as much as the other 2, not even a replay value.
if there is anyone who wants to share their opinion on what they disliked in Dark Souls 3, go ahead. And if there is anyone who wants to correct me then go ahead.

Again, don't post any hateful comments, I'm not trying to spread hate in anyway, just wanted to see what others think and if they agree.
Thanks.

As someone who has only played DS3 and no other games in the series (My nephew plays them and I watched him play DS 3 and was like "Wow.. the maps look so cool!!") I can tell you that for a newcomer, DS3 is amazing. And so hard. I don't think any game has challenged me to get good or die like this one has.

That being said, I look forward to eventually playing DS 2 and DS 1 because of all these posts talking about how they are better.

So for me... it's all win win

DS 2 was a nightmare and a terrible game and way more linear than DS 3. You can go plenty of different routes if you want it just makes a nice route easier to notice for new players. There are tons of builds but there are some better than others which all the games have. sad sorcery takes so much to get good and faith is kinda uselss in pvp but thats not new to any of the games. DS 1 is such a standard though so i can see why a bunch of old players arent interested in it. There are problems. poise being #1 on everyone list, but every game has had its problems.

I bought this game at release, but I've gotten very disappointed in how it didn't live up to neither hype nor reputation. Still a good game, though, but it can't really take up the torch after its predecessors.
I agree with this comment the most but greatly understand that DarkSouls 3 is far from "the best Souls game" as stated by many others, after NG+ there isn't really anything new or rewarding that happens to make you keep playing and SL1 runs are much easier now as the bosses are somewhat of a joke (looking at you Abyss Watchers).

yeh , worse than ds2 , ds2 was fun , this one isnt.
i agree and disagree.

totally agree withthe negative points you are mentioning, but no dark souls 3 is not the worst. it has, like all of the soulsborne games its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of problems.

the way i see it, each one of the games has a different feel to it and which one of them you like more is mostly preference, simple as that.

dark souls 1 was my first souls game and it was an incredible experience i will never forget, but the game and pacing after obtaining the lord vessel was not very good nor interesting.

dark souls 2 was initially a huge disappointment for me and i thought it was really "meh". i still played a ridiculous amount of hours given the fact that i found it to be mediocre. after 400 hours or so i rage quit it. came back to it after some months, did some challenge runs and totally fell in love with the game. i love dark souls 2, it just is not the experience dark souls 1 provided. thats neither better nor worse, ds2 is simply a game where it's fun to just play the game itself and do all the things possible in it.

bloodborne... well here is the thing: lots of people love bloodborne to death and would rate it over ds2 and 3. i found it to be incredibly boring. its all there, i love the setting, love the boss designs, love the lore and the soundtrack is one of my favorites in general. but it simply didn't click with me. i played 30 hours of it and will most likely never touch it again, i just wanted it to end by the time i reached gherman.
so for me bloodborne is the worst out of all of them, but that does not nessecarily mean that it is a worse game than the other 4.

dark souls 3 really has alot of areas where it is simply lacking and i really am glad that there won't be a dark souls 4 in the near future. but i have over 200 hrs and counting in it and there simply is lots of fun to be had, so many little things i still discover despite having played it alot.

TLDR:
it is not the best of the series, it is not the worst of the series, all of them provide a diferent experience in my opinion and which one you like the most is simpl up to you and is not objective.

I think DS3 blows the breaks off of DS2 but DS1 and DS3 is a toss up. I think most of us started of DS1 so it has a part in our heart to be the favorite. I do not think DS3 is at all a bad game, I enjoy it and played through it plenty of times and made various build just to ♥♥♥♥ with myself and be outside of the box to go as far as I can (Parry only builds, dodge only builds, straight tank your face off builds etc....). It's fun, DS2 just had way to many bosses and none of them stuck in my brain for more than two seconds after I defeated them. DS3 is good, I never cared for PVP it always seemed to be unbalanced but it is fun to get invaded here and there.

One of the worst? Well, despite it's problems, I say it's the 2nd best in the series.

I'll never understand this mentality. I can understand why some people would think DS2 is not the best in the series. I can even understand why some people think DS2 is the least enjoyable of the bunch. I will never, however, understand how so many people think DS2 is a "Terrible game." Do you not know what a "terrible game" is? Superman 64 was a terrible game. Ride to Hell was a terrible game. Dark Souls 2 was selected as game of the year and received a 91 on Metacritic, receiving 9's and 10's from most reviewers. The idea that DS2 is a "terrible game" is absurd hyperbole that keeps getting spread by trolls and annoying fanboys of other games in the series.

Out of Demon's Souls and the Dark Souls trilogy, this is the only one I won't be playing hundreds of hours. They sucked so much of the magic out of the series releasing so many quick and easy sequels. I hope their next game is something quite different. But seeing as it's the video game industry, I doubt it.

Miyazaki has confirmed that he is fully focused on developing new IP's for Fromsoft and that he is working on 3 different games at the moment. I think it is safe to assume that whatever From releases next will be unique.

They said 1 of those 3 is a souls-like game. Maybe the long-awaited Dragon's Souls?

yes and no. he's already confirmed another fantasy rpg series. much like bloodborne to dark souls me thinks.

and another armored core (yay)

he did also mention if others want to do ds4 that's fine, so no surprise is we get a ds2 B team style game again (I hope)
