why bother even having the durability meter?
in dark souls 1 weapons broke easily and it was a challenge but now its so hard NOT to break your weapon even the one considered fragile never break so why bother? either they patch it to add more challenge or they remove it

Don't forget armor breakage, which is so difficult you practically NEED to use cheat engine to do so. ^.^

No, its working as intended.

lol.

Heres the thing okay. Yes it's an eye sore.

Do you really want to see dev time put into removing durability for no reason when it already doesn't matter? Do you really want online maitenance and a patch for something that already doesn't matter?

Should really think about these things before demanding stuff. You could be costing everyone and yourself time for no reason. Could even have broken patches to change something that already doesn't matter.

I found equipment breakage more of a problem in Dark Souls 2, than the first Dark Souls.

You dont NEED to use cheat engine. You can use healing ring and krabs.

Dark Souls 1 has no durability issues, it would take you weeks of swinging a weapon at a wall or corpse for it to break (excluding low durability weapons). Armour had insanely high durability so it'd take months for someone to break yours unless they specifically used the durability degrading items like acid urns.

Dark Souls 2, on PC, would take 5 minutes or less when swinging at corpses (most weapons). (This was eventually changed, not in a patch, but a re-release of the game known as Scholar of the First Sin because ♥♥♥♥ existing customers)

Dark Souls 3 is kinda in-between? I think it strikes a good balance? The main issue I have is that resting at a bonfire repairs your weapons and armour to 100% durability, this did not happen in Dark Souls 1 and 2 (It was introduced in Scholar of First Sin I think). In PvE there is no reason to carry repair powder or visit the blacksmith to repair stuff in DkS3.

I said "practically NEED" Don't worry, I know about the crab trick but I am not waiting that long :), it would be faster to download CE and figure out how to do it.

armor and weapons hardly ever broke in DS1.

DS2 the durability was borked because of that 60fps bug and it only was fixed after the game was ported to ps4/xbone(From showing their expertise yet again)

Lowest durability I have had in DS3 is with my Zwei. Was farming for wolfblood grass and after 2 hours I noticed it was half way :D

No, I would have liked to see dev time not be wasted on putting it there in the first place. Durability, poise, armor defense numbers - all game mechanics which are discussed at length within the game, as well as *shown* within several aspects of the UI, yet none of them actually matter or even exist at all.

It was broken even in Scholar. Remember console players started ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it and THEN From grew a brain and decided to fix.

durability drain is sadly better and more balanced on NG_7 in my experience. You actually see the meter drop down a bit after wailing some enemies.
