Can't use arrows

I have a bow. I have 2 types of arrows equipped. I have 0 types of bolts equipped.

All I can find online is how to use bows in DS and DS2. My bow is equipped two handed.

Holding in L2 appears to ready the bow, but not load it.

Holding in L1 is first person mode.

R2 makes me fumble around behind my back (even with L2 held)

R1 makes me fumble around behind my back (even with L2 held)

The arrows are clearly there.

What is the actual process that makes you fire the bow and switch between arrows?

Do you actually have thhe arrows that you have equipped? Does it tell you the quantity of them? And are they the right kind of arrows for the bow. Regular bows take regular arrows and greatbows take great arrows.

Using the bow is almost exactly the same as in previous dark souls games, so you should be doing it right. The only thing I can think of is what Kotsich said, you might be trying to use greatbow ammunition with a regular bow

Bleh... it was Onislayer Greatbow and yeah... I was using regular bow arrows...

I got it sorted out now.

Tsk tsk. One tip I can give you is to push up on the d-pad when you're zoomed in on the bow, that'll let you zoom in more. Pressing down zooms it back out
