What are your opinions on Duel Charm usage in duels?
Do you find it inappropriate? Is there a line where a build almost depends on the buffs to do anything? Or do you consider it just another legit duel tool to be used and valued?

If we're taking in the sense of an "honor" duel, I say use of duel charms is fine after the fight has begun and after your opponent has buffed. I know a lot of people disagree, which is probably why I see a lot of people buff before they get close to me when I summon them for duels

I agree. I think once the actual fight is on, duel charms are fine and should be considered by both players.

However, not even 30 minutes ago, an opponent took that as a sign that Estusing is also acceptable, which I didn't take kindly to, and I drank all my Estus on top of his corpse after winning.

It's called a "Duel Charm" for a reason. If a build depends on buffs, then tough titty.

honestly i have thought about that too and ... i am not entirely sure. i didn't use any so far but was considering to use them, cause ... why not? People also throw bombs and throwing knifes all over the place but i can also understand that it might be quite the annoying item to get thrown at you ... i guess i might try to use some the next days and see what happens? :'D personally i would like it for them to be ok just like bombs and knifes resins etc.

It's essentially a firebomb, but with utility instead of direct damage. So I use it as such.

Yeah, during fights it's absolutly fine. Not that I ever get thrown at with those things, since I dont use buffs. But I try to be somewhat polite when using them.

Well, unless it's someone is standing there in front of me casting 3 buffs while running around with gotthards. Then I throw one just to spite them.

I only use a duel charm if they use 2 or more buffs

Duell charms are legit, its not that easy to hit someone with it and should be expected by players that rely on buffs. I mean the opponent still can deal demage with their weapons after the debuff they are not as fckd like casters that got hit by a undead hunter charm. And nobody cares if you use undead hunter charms in duells.

It's called a duel charm, and you're in a duel. I'd say it's completely appropriate.
If they use more than 1 buff automatically no fun time.
I'd say it's a bit of a ♥♥♥♥ move, but not necessarily against the 'rules'.
Plenty of builds rely on buffs in order to be functional. Just 'being able to attack' isn't enough; if I took away a quality build's Refined Exile Greatsword and gave him an unupgraded Longsword, he still technically has the ability to attack, but 'technically' isn't good enough.

well you can just avoid getting hit by the charm though.

I think if your build RELIES on buffs, you need to be extra careful against Duel charms. It makes no sense that someone would let you get a free stat advantage, so it's best to consider the fact that people will use charms from time to time.

You do know that duel charms dont take away weapon upgrades right?
If that was an example of how some build become useless without buffs. Sorry to say but it was poor.

Guys, what builds would RELY on buffs. (Excluding ridiculous tears of denial cheese builds)
