So if you make a fall which does 500 damage (and you have 501 HP), wearing the ring and making the same fall won't damage you for 500 damage.
If you make a fall which does the same or more damage than your current HP, wearing the ring won't help.
That doesn't make sense. Why would its effectiveness be based on how much health you have? I'm pretty sure you just die if you fall more than a scripted distance.
there are falls which you can survive, and falls you will never ever survive, just throw a prism stone before you jump next time ;p

Indeed. If you hear a loud noise, NOTHING will help you survive that fall.
If you hear that noise just quit out :^)
