Judgment GS +5: 494 AR
MLGS +5: 551 AR
Judgment GS +5 with WA buff: 595 AR
If you can maintain the buff, Judgment is clearly stronger. However, MLGS doesn't consume FP for its ranged attacks, and the beam can be cancelled. So it depends on your FP usage, and whether you want more melee damage or a superiour ranged attack option.
And then, add magic clutch ring + ring of steel to compensate physical damage reduction.
I just love the judgement greatsword
I use Judgment. Looks nicer and dark sorceries don't use much FP.
The clutch rings and the ring of steel protection do balance eachother out rather nicely, yeah.
lol that's it. Thx mate
What do you consider high Int? Cause I'm running 558 AR unbuffed with 40int/25STR/20Dex. 638 AR with the buff on. - Greatsword of Judgement
lol
Greatsword of Judgement is good, too, but I'd take the MLGS over the GSoJ any day.
Depending on your build, GSoJ has the potential for a considerably higher damage output, but that doesn't really matter to me. Moonlight blasts are badass, and I like the moveset better. Plus, MLGS doesn't take FP to use the ranged attacks.
Couldn't have said it better myself. When I used the MLGS I really enjoyed the 2h light attack hyperarmour, the deceptively quick 2h swings plus you don't have to mess around with buffs.
(Also fashion souls imo)
The MLGS has slighly more range, goes better through shield (more magic damage), and the weapon art hits hard with an excellent tracking ! With 60int the damage of the weapon is good, in the 310 range with the R1s. It does even more damage with magic clutch ring (340 range), but for pvp i don't think it worth it since you will also take a lot more damage, and the greatsword gameplay rely a lot "hyper-armouring" through opponent's attacks (the ring of steel protection is useless in pvp, so it's hard to offset that).
On the other hand the GSOJ requires a lot more stats to reach his potential : 27str/40dex/40int would be optimal but if you cap yourself at 120 i would advice 17/40/40 (EDIT : according to mugenmonkey ar calc 27/30/40 should be better). With those stats it hits like a truck, in the 360-370 range when buffed (you should keep it buffed at all time, and since 1.09 the buff last a good amout of time, plus it is applied through attacking so it's pretty much a non-concern). And this is without the clutch ring, which you can ignore without too much regret here. Aside it consumes less stamina (slightly), and weigh less. Also the WA-R1 is extremely good, and while it lacks the tracking of the MLGS, the hyper armour starts very early, and the foward mommentum is very handy to outspace your opponent (especially heavy-weapon users). The beam consume fp, but in pvp beam is only usefull to make your opponent roll into you, and a good player will not bite it anyway. Also, both of these attacks will buff the weapon.
At the end of the day it should come down to personnal preference (as usual ?!), since both weapons are top tier GS. I would say if you plan to use spells, the MLGS is a better option, since the stats it requires to reach full potential will leave you with a healthy amout of points to spend in attunement, and you will have 60 int wich is needed for every caster. But if you are into swordplay only (which is my case), I would advice to give a try to the GSOJ, since it is an extremely good and hard hitting greatsword. Plus, come on, it looks gorgeous ! ;)
