Did you know your character actually DOES sheathe their sword?

It's true! try it yourself. first, have a shield in your left hand, and a weapon that has a sheath of some sort. Now, HOLD triangle (or whatever your two hand button is) and your character should two hand your left weapon. Now, look at your sheathe. It should be sheathed.

It's nice they brought back sheathing swords, in Dark Souls 2 they would just float there on your left.

You can't have a sheathed sheathe. You CAN however have a sheathed item within your sheathe!

You can always use Uchigatana's weapon art, you get it after the first boss and you can sheathe with the intent to strike.

the thing that gets closest to that is equipping the caestus in the left hand and then hold triangle.
