Creighton the Wanderer won't invade me, help

Hi everyone I started a new play through of DS3 for the sole reason of getting the dragon slayer axe its my favorite souls weapon and didn't know it was in the game until recently. I can't seem to get the guy to invade me. I have completed the woman quest line up until defending her on the bridge, Iv gone back to firelink and got my reward (a ring and something else I cant remember). So now I ember up and run the graveyard to get invaded but I can't get him to.

I have tried restarting the game many times and reloading the area. I have not killed any bosses in the area.

Any ideas?

You have to be embered and proceed forward from church of yorshka, and turn left. You'll see a corvian praying at a gravestone, Creighton will invade there and you can get the axe.

You can't kill him if the boss (Pontiff sullyvahn) is dead either.

okay apparently you can only be invaded by nps while your online, because i tried and it worked.

Huh, you shouldn't have to be online for the npc's to invade but glad you got it to work. Enjoy the axe.

Dude i was just about to say, i just had the same issue in a recent playthrough. I had to be online for every npc invasion. Previous playthroughs i did not. I dont know if its a bug.

You are correct, I've been able to fight them offline in the past, but in my recent NG+ playthrough i had to be online for some reason. Its wierd i know.

You can be invaded my NPCs in offline mode. However, an internet connection is still required to be invaded by NPCs, even if you're in offline mode. I know it sounds stupid, but I've read other people saying the same thing, and I tested it myself.
Offline NPC invasions are nice because I don't want other players to ♥♥♥♥ me when I'm just trying to do a quest or get an item.

when ur offline on steam, you cant get invaded period, that might not be why though

Realize this is really old, but I just experienced the EXACT same scenario. Was standing in the graveyard by the large gravestone reading this thread for a few minutes, all of a sudden, I got invaded. So...Creighton is shy sometimes? Took about 5+ solid minutes of standing still near the gravestone before he showed up. Hope this helps.
