I used to, but then I learned to parry.
all good now, he eats my riposte damage :)
the only hard thing about nameless king is the camera, the damm camera has killed me more than the boss himself. ..
That's a fair assessment. How many other bosses came in pairs prior? Not counting Capra and the dog mob.
Totally wrong, the older bosses are far easier in hindsight than the bosses in Dark Souls 3 as a whole, but I guess that was the point of this kind of thread.
In Dark Souls 1, the only bosses remotely as difficult as most of the bosses in 3 are the Four Kings (if you have a low damage melee build), and possibly Artorias. The rest are a bit of a joke - incredibly slow and easy for anybody to avoid. Ornstein and Smough are average in terms of difficulty, despite having a reputation for being difficult, because they are INCREDIBLY slow to attack compared to practically anything in DS3. Having two of them makes them a bit tough, but either one of them alone is a joke and they die very quickly.
In Dark Souls 2, most of the bosses are similarly slow and easy to defeat.
In 3, the bosses are faster, hit harder, have more varied attacks, and are generally harder to kill.
Admittedly, you can still trivialize it with Sorcery, and some can be cheesed (such as in the Giant boss fight which otherwise would have been a very fun fight without the stupid "sword" mechanic), but overall they seem far more difficult in 3 than in any of the prior games.
I mean, in which way are the Dark Souls 3 bosses easier than in prior entries? How is the Nameless King harder than "anything" in the prior games? Is he slow? Hits less powerfully? Has less health? Is easier to predict attacks for? Personally, I'm not seeing any of it.
then my internet decided to turn off
This. I find most of the DS1 bosses easy, spent most of DSII lamenting the lack of harder bosses, and then almost got sucked into the same mindset in DSIII.
Do I want amazing, epic fights every time? Yes!
Can I have that? No. No game will have perfect amazing boss fights every time.
There are just a lot of really good ones to find. Bloodborne has the Orphan, Ludwig, Gascoigne, and Rom.
Dark Souls has the Kings, Manus, Artorias, and Kalameet, to say nothing of O&S, Gwyn, and Pinwheel (not really).
DSII has Raime, Sinh, Aava, Vendrick, and the Mirror Knight.
Demons' Souls had Allant, Flamelurker, Maneater, and the Maiden.
Now, DSIII has Iudex and the Champion (best starting boss in the series, IMO), the Tree, Nameless King, the Princes, and Pontiff Sullyvahn.
THESE ARE ALL GOOD BOSSES.
Every game was disappointing in some way, but every game was still one of the best you ever played.
Stop complaining on Steam! Go do a challenge run! Troll invaders! Buy another Soulslike game! Do something fun! You're only annoyed because it's good, and you can see how much better it could have been!
