NPC invaders not spawning at all...

Ever since I got "App Version 1.05.1" (whatever the .1 at the end is for) when I booted up the game for another playthrough-in-progress I noticed that the red phantom NPC invaders that are supposed to show up in certain areas... well, are not.

First I was in Farron Keep. Went to both areas where Heysel can invade waiting for the invasion. Never showed up. And yes I checked, I was definitely embered. Didn't know what to think, but I moved on anyway.

Next stop, Catacombs of Carthus, where I awaited Knight Slayer Tsorig... only he never spawned either. And yes I was embered here too.

So has "1.05.1" caused some glitch in the game or something? What's going on? Anyone else also experiencing this?

I have the same issue, no invaders at all with no clue of the issue, tried reloadng the area tried leaveing the area quit out of the game completely reload the area and... no change still no invasion, this seem to extend to every Red NPC invader, because hoderick still invades like clockwork for me in the settlement but absolutely no red invaders.

Glad I'm not the only one. And I found according to some reddit thread that "App 1.05.1" just makes it so you don't get booted out of the game during a Steam update or something. But it looks like it somehow erased all NPC red invaders in the process(?). NPC summon signs still show and activate but no invaders.

It did this to me long before the patch. I was embered and got invaded by Heysel. Except it was a cosplayer from the Watchdogs of Farron covenant. I never got invaded by the NPC.

So, I managed to "solve" the problem. Ugh, oh boy...

You have to be playing ONLINE now for the NPC invaders to, well, invade you. I've been playing offline for a good while now, since I got all of the achievements and covenant rankings and ♥♥♥♥. And now they made it so for me to encounter invaders that can normally be encountered offline I have to be online now? Why? I hope this wasn't an intentional change but some mistake on their part. Probably nobody noticed since most people seem to play online all the time anyway. But really, from needing to be online to get achievements and now needing to be online to encounter NPC invaders, is From/Bamco gradually taking this game to the route of Diablo 3? This BETTER be a mistake, better be.

I don't know if it is or isn't, but I've opted to never go offline since near the elease of this game, being offline could get your flagged and softbanned. I'm 90% certain this doesn't happen anymore, but...

if you want to fix the NPC invaders not showing up, locate the steam_emu file in your Dark Souls 3/Game folder and change Set Steam connection to offline mode from Offline=1 to Offline=0.

Ah, another old thread.

I actually did find a "solution" of sorts some while ago playing the game. Basically, I have to start this game up making sure Steam itself is online, disconnect my wi-fi at the title screen so it goes offline, start up the game, then reconnect my wi-fi. I'll still be playing offline, technically, unless I quit and reload, but the NPC invaders suddenly spawn where they're supposed to the moment my wi-fi reconnects. Weird but, I dunno, whatever it takes to make it work since Bamco tech support had no solutions for this, so if, say, I want to fight Heysel in Crucifixion Woods but don't feel like being ganked by the Watchdogs of Farron, this is how I've found to do it, for now.

Where'd you find the steam_emu file? I checked my game folder and I can't find it anywhere.
