It's a severe candidate for the spot "worst weapon".
Is it impossible to block attacks from a soldering iron (when used by a player)?
Because your shield (whatever that may be) is completely useless against jailers.
It's actually a pretty decent weapons with a good moveset. Its damage is low, yes, but as with all weapons, if the moveset is good, you can do well with it
only part of the damage, because it's split.
for instance anyone using a lothric knight greatsword (lightning damage built in) will so do damage to your health pool, if you look at shields they mostly have 100% physical damage reduction bur much lower percentage elemental reduction
guessing you haven't seen the jailer cosplay dude that's defeated whole fight clubs with one?
every single weapon is viable in the right hands, I've seen people wreck others with a broken sword, even bare fisted.
likewise people have beaten the game naked at sl1.
so yes, every ...single...weapon is viable in the right hands.
>Ask about a weapon that is unblockable when used by NPCs.
>"Is it also completely unblockable when used by the player?"
>Start a shítstorm about the weapon's viability.
only use i've found for it is jailor cosplay invasions in irithyll dungeon
mmh it's still something.
actually I only asked if it blocked estus usage when used by players, not also if it's unblockable (I already know it isn't because it would be too much).
p.s. I looked at the wiki and some people say it also affects encumbrance when in pvp, like when the jailers use it on you.
I never said it was the best of the spear movesets, I never said the damage was good, I said the weapon has a pretty decent moveset and if you're good with the moveset, you're good with the Soldering Iron. Seriously, if you're a skilled player and not just an R1 mashing moron, you can get some pretty solid kills in with this thing.
ah.
