lore explanation is that the scholars are dipping their head in wax to prevent them from going insane from studying the books, since...some of the books contain really dark stuff i guess (??).

for you it translated into not being harmed by the hands getting out of the books that build curse to you, like Yurizle said.

Doesn't the head wax let you tank 1 sorcery hit and take no dmg from it? I swear it helps with that too.
