TLDR: Yes other boss weapons are good
Farron Greatsword, transposed from the Soul of the Blood of the Wolf, has the flippy spinny moveset. It's damage is not all there, but it is strange enough that it is fun to play with.
Wolf Knight's Greatsword, also from the Soul of the Blood of the Wolf, has some interesting moveset variations and nice damage on a quality build. It also has a spin and flip move.
Profaned Greatsword, transposed from the Soul of Pontiff Sulyvahn, is insane. It's a quality weapon, scaling well with Strength and Dexterity, but it's Stomp weapon art grants a fixed fire buff, and it has a second fire buff that stacks with the first when you fully charge it's R2s. Combine with the Leo Ring, and you can get some absurd counter damage that can outright one-shot people.
Yhorm's Great Machete, transposed from the Soul of Yhorm the Giant, is the quintessential Strength Weapon. It's a nice long Greataxe with long range, great Strength scaling, and a Warcry that grants it an interesting variation on the heavy attack stolen straight from Yhorm's moveset. And if you have a Hornet Ring, damn near everybody will die to a riposte.
Dragonslayer Greataxe, transposed from the Soul of Dragonslayer Armor, is an alternative to Yhorm's with additional lightning damage and a stupid powerful weapon art that calls down thunder on your position from a nice big damaging attack. It barely suffers for it's split damage, which is nice.
Moonlight Greatsword, transposed from the Soul of Consumed Oceiros, is the weapon fo choice for aspiring sorcerers ever since it was buffed in a patch. Although it is the weakest rendition of the Moonlight Greatsword in the series, it is strong enough to consider.
Gundyr's Halberd, transposed from the Soul of Champion Gundyr, is a fantastic Halberd that scales mostly with Strength, and it has one of the most verstile weapon art attacks, the Champion's Charge. It begins as a Charge, but it ends in a large sweeping attack that does a lot of damage, and you can free-aim it to throw off even the best of parry kings or chase down the trickiest cowards. It is a worthy alternative to the Prisoner's Chain.
The Storm Curved Sword, transposed from the Soul of the Nameless King, is the longest of all curved swords and has a unique variation of the ever powerful spin-slash that comes packaged with an Area of Effect attack.
And lastly, the Twin Princes' Greatsword, available only on NG+ by combining Lothric's Holy Sword and Lorian's Greatsword using a unique transposition option from Ludleth. It combines the an even stronger and faster variation of the ranged weapon art of Lothric's Holy Sword with a faster variation of Lorian's Greatsword's Weapon Art to create an extremely versatile Greatsword.
Also, if you feel like throwing people off cliffs, check out the Firelink Greatsword, transposed from the Soul of the Lords. It's weapon art has great range and anyone hit by it gets thrown onto thier backs, and anyone near a cliff is going right off the edge to thier deaths. As far as attack goes, it's roughly on the same level as the Twin Prince's Greatsword, except it's weapon art also has a built-in buff if you're into that.
Also, if you ever return to Archdragon Peak on NG+, try stocking up on Ashen Estus and using the Dragonslayer Swordspears weapon art on the Ancient Wyvern. At the right spot, you'll deal really good damage and have a serious shot at killing it without the plunigng attack.
The rest are mediocre, unless you think you can do something with them, which is unlikely.
that weapon did less than 1/10th of my health bar with my pure mage build with only 25 vigor.
if it did work in pvp, it'd've been a meta by now
While not as strong as Dragonslayer or Yorhm's (as it suffers more from split damage than Dragonslayer), it has a good weapon art with a splash radius bigger than it seems.
Thank you so much for this!
I was under the impression that the boss weapons were going to be pretty much trophies again. I was super stoked when i tried out the moveset and figured I'd upgrade it just to see since I was planning on reverting back to my old save anyway.
I'll have to try some of these out!
