It gets worse when you factor in "physical" damage. What the hell is "physical" damage, and why is it separate from blunt, slash, thrust? Is it the "regular" damage from DkS1? How is the regular damage not slash? I really don't get it.
in fact, the slashing attacks from DS2's straight swords actually counted as slash damage, here the r1 slashes from straightswords are pure standard damage.
A weapon either slashes with an edge, strikes with a blunt edge or pierces with a sharp point. How "Standard" is neither of that I will never know.
slashing damage is said to not do so good against "armors and scales" from the descriptions of some scimitars regarding slashing attacks so I would assume it has something to do with that.
It is nothing major (18 damage on a Silver Knight using it's shield to block) but still - I thought this was something exclusive to stuff like Man Serpent Hatchet, Shotel and of course the Scythes.
Perhaps all Slash-damage weapons get it?
