My One Issue With Soul of Cinder.
I love the fight. It's a fitting end. But it also has the largest health pool in the base game. Well over 10,000. This draws the fight out a little too much. Gwyn had 4000ish. Nashy had 9000. Why u do dis frem? Of course, I'm not complaining, it's just something I'd change.

Well, at that point of the game you do have quite a lot of damage in your arsenal.

I find that the fight is usually over far too quickly for me to appreciate the soundtrack..!

I usually go for the quicker less damaging weapons because they can be good for end game, but his defense is so high and he has a gogillian health.

Honestly, I love how long the fight is, it feels perfect, it'd be boring if it was over quickly, hell Nash I killed on my first try in like..three seconds, atleast this boss he killed me quite abit and the fight felt lengthy enough to enjoy.

I think thats because Nash had rediculously low defenses for an end boss. And Gwyn's fight lasted a good few minutes for me. Soul of Cinder usually takes me about 15 minutes.

Another argument one could make is that he is basically many bosses in one:

If he had less health, you'd not really notice/experience his various phases.

My only issue with this boss is his combo that sends you in the sky in phase 2. Get hit only once and you're dead.

Nah. I usually have high fire defense, it takes half my health at most.

Look on the bright side, least you're not trying to defeat him with a level 7 challenge build with a +2 Heavy Man Serpent Hatchet.

yhorm w/o storm ruler, absolute pain in teh ayss.

soul of cinder fight is enjoyable, it's not hard yet it's not easy either (i'm talking abt avg experience here).
i'm okay with his hp, since he can switch 2-3 with it to make fight even awesome. if he's too glassy, you won't bother seeing him switching because maybe he's 1st-phase-dead already.

I may be wrong, but the Soul of Cinder fight also scales its HP the more phantoms you summon for help. You could be helping a guy on his first journey with say three sunbros, and the HP for Soul of Cinder will go up dramatically to match the number of players in the area.

All bosses scale like that; which is why any more than one friendly Phantom is more of a hinderance than a benefit.

Whenever I get summoned for a bossfight and there are already 2-3 Phantoms presents, I know I am going to have a bad time (because the damage also scales up, increasing the likelyhood that the Host of embers will get pwnt).
