DARK SOULS™ III

DARK SOULS™ III

So I just beat the crystal sage as mage and I have a question.
Stats when beating the Crystal Sage:
Level: 46

Vigor: 13
Attunement: 24
Endurance: 10
Vitality: 7
Strength: 12
Dexterity:14
Intelligence: 36
Faith: 7
Luck: 12

Out of the bosses I encountered so far, this is the most difficult yet. Are there other bosses like the crystal sage that leave almost no window for errors?

Most consider the crystal sage to be one of the easiest bosses. Try putting more points into vigor.

Well If you spend a lot in vigor you can just tank the boss, and then yea easy boss.

As sorcerer? Good luck against Aldrich... He basically eats magic and dark damage for breakfast... but he is immensely weak to fire. So, I hope this helps out.

It took me 15 tries to beat the crystal sage. I'm not one to give up after all.

With your str and dex you could just 2h a raw weapon and kill them the normal way.

Eh, I think I'll hit like half i do with magic. The only way I'd do more dmg is backstab.

Maybe depends in playstile. With my 2-handed greatshield only char, it was nearly impossible for me, i had to ask for coop, like for deacons (though i did nearly all the other bosses OK). When i went with my 2-handed scythe, i did it at first attempt

But it will be immensely easier, magic is too slow.

If I struggle with my magic I bring my fire. If I struggle with fire I bring my dark. If I struggle with dark I bring my magic.

I mean if you only put points on, you can still use some pyromancies when you can't progress using magic. Hope this helps out. You have the pyromancer in Firelink Shrine, right? You can rescue him from Undead Settlement. He gives you a pyro glove too.

Have fun with the Pontiff.

Heads up... Playing as my black witch against Aldrich had me "in the zone" for quiet some tedious minutes. Patience is key. But I heavily recommend you to aim for 27 Vigor. That nets you 1.000 HP unembered. But I guess you could be fine with 20 Vigor for a while. Just don't sit around at base Vigor... that gets you killed more often than you might think.
Also, I hope you're aming to min-max the requiered stats for a weapon to infuse it with crystal later, so you have a melee weapon that actually scales well from your Intelligence.

I am planning to use moonlight gs when I can get it. And I upload the bossfights on youtube, without commentary.

Ok. I beat Pontiff Sulyvahn last week with a lvl 15 melee character. I want my own thread too. And maybe a gold star or a cookie.

There's a lot of middle ground between tanking and getting 1 shotted.

You're already like 2 points past Moonlight Greatsword on Dexterity. Is that the base Dexterity on the Sorcerer starting class?
Anyways... I would recommend going for something that does scale with Dexterity aswell. You might even consider making a dex-mage, since Dexterity icnreases your casting speed.
