I give up. Hodrick riposte can't believe my eyes
This guy riposted me for 937 damage. Possibly for more but that was my full health. Killed me in a single riposte. So much for my no-death run. I give up

I tried to pit him once against Yellowfinger Heysel but didn't work out well. They both chased me.
Summon him and run to Orbeck, he will fight the enemies and probably will fall down to the "beasts with wooden cross", they will kill him.

What about Yellowfinger Heysel ? I want to watch them fight.

Corrected a mistake

I do not know about Heysel, never tested it.

Hodrick attacks everyithing. Just make him follow you. Don´t approach the ladder to the Farron Keep, tho; he returns home.

Not correct like 99 % of your posts. Hodrick attacks those who attack him. Same as Yellowfinger. So it is tricky to make them aggro each other, but not impossible.

Yeah, that´s why I ALWAYS fail to troll anyone dumb enough to invade my SL40/+3 character in NG+ Woods (including Heysel).

Problem is other people will be near me and thus he kinda has to be near me to hurt them. I'd say only 1/3rd of the players I've seen are stupid enough to recklessly engage him on their own when they see him before realizing it is to late and dying to a single hit. Most of them just ignore him because his AI is kinda retarded and he walks 80% of the time and once near will often just stand still for a moment or cast pointless buffs. Thus my main tactic for actually utilizing him is placing him in players blind spot while I dodge attacks or draw their attention, etc.

His AI has some other undocumented problems. He tries to parry fireballs too. From a distance. Probably AI bug.
He also doesn't understand Undead Hunter Charms. Throwing one to him causes him to hopelessly attemp to drink estus whenever he's not being attacked making him very simple to finish.

Man, ♥♥♥♥ that guy.

Found 3 ways to kill him:
-in the undead settlement, run like hell and jump to the platform with the bone shard (assuming the giant is friendly)- he'll run straight off the cliff trying to follow you.

-for the fight with Sirris, just backstab fish and hope he doesn't kill her, which will usually happen anyway.

-like any other NPC, lifedrain will wreck his ♥♥♥♥ with minimal effort

Haven't fought him in the crucifixion woods.

Throw some Dung Pies at him, get the Storyteller´s Staff and use its WA. Keep your distance and use a long weapon, if it´s a parriable weapon, only swing when he is 2H his Flamberge. Throw some Undead Hunter Charms at him and abuse his failing chugs.

in addition to all these methods another hyper lazy cheese, grab a heavy weapon with a charge attack that can knock down (I prefer thrust like with Lothric Knight Greatsword) and knock him down with it once. As he is about to start standing up again begin charging and hit him the moment he is up again to knock him down. You will keep him permanently CC'd unable to act until he dies. This method helps keep that wet paper Sirris alive very effectively and prevents him from healing, too. It also works on Halflight if you are doing a low upgrade/low lv run in later NG+s where his tankyness and healing can get a little obnoxious with your neutered low dmg (get him and his ally phantoms lined up and perma knock down both of them until you win).

This fight is not needed for Sirris's questline. Also, you can just summon and run away (he is purple, so he can beat other guys in location)

Nah, Swamp Hodrick is the strongest from what I can tell. Thank Gwyn he does not has the HP from DS2 invaders.
Yup, Swamp Hodrick is the strongest of the NPCs and after several NG+s can probably solo any boss except Midir/Gael simply due to their mobility and ludicrous HP pools if you were to pit them against each other. He gets stupid buffed yet has literally no reward/purpose for existing outside trolling.

I'd probably say the 2nd being Alva. Dunno which of his two invasions is worse, but even just in NG+ he does insane damage. Seriously, nearly getting 2-shot while having 30% absorption and 1,500 to 1,600 hp is a bit much.

Who is Hodrick anyway ? He has any story behind ?
