LOD/Texture streaming BUG
Hi all,

So, I wanna know if others are impacted:
When I launch DS3, and continue my game, I spawn at Crucifixion Woods and everything is OK, gorgeous etc...
BUT, if I die or fast travel, I see textures pop-in EVERYWHERE, trees, rocks, etc have their final texture which pop way too close from my character and it's awful!
I know it's a bug, because it doesn't happen when I launch the game and play one 1st time, at this moment everything is perfect, it's only when I die or fast travel.
Lots of people told me that the game was made this way, but that's false, because once again, it doesn't happen 1st time I launch my game....
I've seen a lot of thread speaking about clipping/LOD issues, and this bug must be fixed.
Anyone else here, impacted with this awful bug?
I can make a video, where you can see that, 1st launch everything is fine, die or fast travel and it's a pop-in fest....
Anyone has the same problem here?

haven't you disabled V-sync at your video card control painel right?
if your fps goes too high from 60, it mess the whole world, used to happen with me when playing skyrim, just turned v-sync on, gg!

Haha, mate, you have no control over v-sync in this game.

Besides, the pop in is an engine problem the game has duo to decreasing the loading times on console. Bloodborne had the same pop in issue after they patched the game as to not load all textures in the loading screen, that's why the loading screen took over 50 seconds first. DS3 struggles from the same texture streaming issue, despite way better hardware then consoles, so I guess it's a pure engine issue they will never adress.

There is no fix this is the engine. From what ppl smarter than me have said the game has a problem with loading assets and the LOD is abysmal.
This will not help all that much but turn Asitropic Filtering in nvidia panel up to x16 and set textures to max. For what ever foking reason AF is disabled in the game and it only unloks with max textures if forced in the panel cuz why the ♥♥♥ not??!!11. Oh and turn DoF off with that setting.
The game will look much sharper.

Let's pray for a GOTY patch(?) next year that will fix this ♥♥♥♥. Probably not.

I know it's not the engine, because it doesn't appears when i start my game, when i spawn, everything is perfect, no textures Lod problem at all, it's only after a death or a fast travel.... then everything pops just in front of me...
If i don't die or don't fast travel, the problem doesn't show up...
But in DS... u die a lot...
Any idea?

Nonono, if you first start the game, loading may differ from when dying in the game. The game loads textures etc. while you are playing and in special areas, whole maps are loading while you walk through it. When you die, the game resets everything, and to make loading quicker, textures are not loaded in screen as they maybe do when you first start the game from the menu. I will check for myself again this evening, but the woods are one of the best places to notice the pop in on the trees. You just have to life with it.

So i just checked again, it's a bug...
People on amd's gpu don't have the problem, and start your game in the woods, u clearly will see that when u 1st spawn everything is perfect with no pop in.
So it must be easy to fix, even if then load times are longer...
I prefer longer load time than pop in everywhere if i die or fast travel...

It's not a bug. It's the games way of pre-rendering. This is the only Souls game with pre-LOD, the others just slap 2D images everywhere. It's got to render the entire world every time you look at it.

Yeh don't know what to tell you but it will not be fixed. And don't hope for any anwser from namco. This was reportde and disscused since the game launch on pc.

I don't see how it's a problem. Most games have pre-lod as to not blow up your PC.

Hard to understand why it works on my 1st spawn but not after a death...

You can't play the game because of the 0.5 seconds pre-load.

Some of us still get fps drops when the game loads the textures in the background.
I can run around in this part of the map and have constant 60fps but when I move between those 2 points it will drop to 45fps for a sec and then go back up to 60fps. Every time in the same spot of the map. I don't think it should work this way.

Entire worlds don't just load. This game loads worlds rediculously fast as it is.
