Dark souls 3 Controller Stuttering (WorkAround!)
For the longest time i have dealt with a type of lag which can only be described as such.
60 Fps consistently
every 5 minutes a "Stuttering" lag which last between 5 seconds and 30 is thrust upon me.

This is a type of input lag, and it does not happen with mouse and keyboard.
let me preface this solution with the fact that turning off said service causes games to not recognise your controller at all. So Start Dark souls 3 first, and then do this process. as the game will not see your controller if The aftermentioned service is off. Once the game hooks onto your controller it will function normally.

The workaround i metnioned is perfoormed as such
Step one: Use "windows Key+R" To open up the 'Run" Windows
Step two: type in "services.msc"
Step three: Naviagte to near the bottom of the list and locate "Windows Management Instrumentation"
Step four: Right click on the process and navigate to properties
Step Five: Change startup type to "Disabled"
Step six: Apply changes
Step seven: Click "Disable"
(Your pc will say that you turned off windows defender. i know, not good. This is still however the only fix to the input lag that actually helped me (Hope its not too much of a downside.)

Next time you start Ds3 remember to change the startup type back to automatic and start the service again, so then youre not confused as to why your controller doesn't work at all.
Repeat the process every time you play ds3.
Hope i offered some help! And please let me know if this helped so i can know it works for others as well.
Cheers!

Still don't know exactly why my Dualshock 3 controller disconnects randomly during gameplay, but at least this helped me, thanks.

My version of what I do to get the controller working again (Windows 7, SCPToolkit),
When the game hangs & disconnects controller (inputs stop sending)
  1. Unplug controller and quit out of Dark Souls III.
  2. Win + R, services.msc
(or search "services" in Start Menu :vright: "Services Running on this Computer")
  3. Find "Windows Management Instrumentation", right click and Stop the service.
Do the same for "SCP DSx Service".
  4. Start Dark Souls III, wait for the Bandai Namco screen.
  5. Right click "Windows Management Instrumentation" and Restart the service.
Do the same for "SCP DSx Service".
  6. Plug controller back in.

Good stopgap measure until I feel like troubleshooting this further.
Thanks!
