DARK SOULS™ III

DARK SOULS™ III

Anyone else who think the Dark Souls 2 themes where better than the other games?
The fights themselves weren't better, but the themes like Sinh, Aldia, Sir Alonne, Ivory King and Ruin Sentinels are imo just as good as Ornstein and Smough, Four Kings and the other good boss themes. Dark Souls 3 on the other hand, hasn't got any remarkable themes except for Nameless King and Soul of Cinder.

Dark Souls 3 is just a huge piece of fan service as far as bosses go. It's honestly disappointing. Still a lot of fun overall! But disappointing that they were too scared to go to their full potential due to the community hating the fact that DS2 wasn't identical to DS1.
I actually like many of the pieces from all three games, but I gotta admit that DS3 has some pretty heavy/epic ones, my favourite examples being Abyss Watchers, Aldrich or Soul of Cinder as well

The other two have awesomely great tunes too though, not going to deny that

Yeah, those you listed up were great.

I agree.
I think DS3 was a good ending for the series, to be honest.

Looking forward to seeing what the DLC brings.
I think all of the Dark Souls have there good and bad theme songs.
DkS 1: Firelink Shrine, Gwyn's theme, Nameless Song, Artorias's theme, Nito Burrito's theme, Sif. These are good themes, bad examples are rather forgettable things like... I can't remember.
DkS 2: Sir Alonne and don't listen to DkS II themes much.
DkS 3: Abyss Watchers, Vordt, Sulyvhan, Lorian and Lothric, Soul of Cinder, Yhorm the Giant.
These are my select favourites.
Yeah, i really hope the DLC is just as good as the main game.
Whelp...

- Main Theme
- Firelink Shrine
- Deacons of the Deep
- Pontiff Sulyvahn
- Oceiros, the Consumed King
- Abyss Watchers
- Yhorm the Giant
- Lorian, Elder Prince. Lothric, Younger Prince
- Soul of Cinder
- Secret Betrayal
- Epilogue

These are all awesome themes / OST tracks.

- Iudex Gundyr
- Nameless King
- Aldritch, Devourer of Gods

These are all good as well.

I think Kitamura did a MUCH better job than Sakuraba with the music, not that that is the subject here.

Dark Souls 3's themes (base game) are far superior to Dark Souls 2. The DLC tracks of DS2, some of which are done by Yuka Kitamura as well, are much better than the main game, and on par with those of DS3.

I love listening to the souls soundtracks, and 3 was not a disappointment in this regard.

Also, Dark Souls 1 is much better than Dark Souls 2 with the themes. Far fewer 'epic' scores, with Kalameet being the best among those. However, it perfected the emotional aspect of every fight with the music.

- Dark Sun Gwyndolin
- Sif, the Great Grey Wolf
- Gwyn, Lord of Cinder
- Knight Artorias
- Ornstein and Smough
- Gwynevere, Princess of Sunlight
- Four Kings
- Seath the Scaleless
- The Ancient Dragon
- Crossbreed Priscilla
- The Faithful Black Knights
- Daughters of Chaos

These are all amazingly crafted pieces, that properly evoke the feelings FromSoft want the players to feel.

A lot of DS2s tracks feel like they're just noise to make the fight more tense.

- Mytha, The Baneful Queen
- Throne Defender, Throne Watcher
- King Vendrick
- Darklurker
- Nashandra
- Aldia, Scholar of the First Sin
- Sir Alonne
- Black Fume Knight
- Elana, Squalid Queen
- Sinh, The Slumbering Dragon
- Aava, King's Pet
- Lud and Zallen, King's Pets
- Burnt Ivory King

These are my favourites from DS2, and they're really good, but still - the vast majority of DS2s soundtrack isn't as good as that from the other games, in my opinion. For DS1 it's the emotion, and DS3 has the proper mix of epicness and emotion.

DS2 tries to go for epicness, and lacks anything else, making many of its tracks just background noise that doesn't actually sound that good.
Dark Souls 1 had 100% amazing songs, while Dark Souls 2 had some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and some really good. Dark Souls 3 also had alot of amazing soundtracks. Maybe it's just me but i think the Sinh theme, my favorite from DS2, is the most epic one in the series. There are alot of better songs in DS1 and 3 than the rest of the DS2 themes though.

Rage face.

Listen to Sinh's theme, then listen to Kalameet's theme. Sakuraba just copied it, and added some bits.
