Best weapon buffs?
I want to run a dex build using spell buffs. The idea was going for miracle buffs since there are up to 3 different weapon buffs but I'm not sure now. What should I go for? Sorcery, faith, fire or dark?

Lightening blade, DMB, carthus flame arc, and CMW are the best

Well, thanks, you just enumerated all 3 spell schools. Now I just need to know which one is better than the rest.
Mini Sep 21, 2016 @ 11:11am
The problem with that is they are all elemental damage, and are very similar. CMW, DMB, and lightening blade all add very similar amounts of elemental damage, but depending on the opponents armor and resistances, they will do less or more damage. So go for which school fits your play style.

carthus flame arc has a much lower spellbuff to AR ratio than dmb or lightning blade.

OP lightning blade, crystal magic weapon and dark moon blade all have the 95% of spell buff to AR buff ratio.

lightning defence is most commonly than other defences due to it raising with endurance.

crystal and darkmoon do magic damage, often the lower of the defences.

basically.

faith gives you access to

tears of denial
healing spells
regeneration spells
lightning spells
sacred oath
deep protection

basically a host of support and offensive spells

int gives you access to

melee spells like farron flashsword and soul greatsword
ranged spells like crystal soul spear
defence spells such as homing soulmass

overall faith is generally the better choice as you have a range of spells to complement melee combat.

also, remember you'll need 50-60 faith/int to make the buffs/spells worthwhile.

Thank you! I'll definitely go for faith then, since my only reason to get those stats is buffing. I will need to go for luck before trying out spells though, since I need 30 ears to get DMB :goblin:

Side question now, does anyone know about SL and places to get summoned for the darkmoon blades?
karkied Sep 21, 2016 @ 11:20am
Cant really focus on dex if u are doing meta sl120

I mean, its possible, but u will have to sacrifice ur hp and stammina for it.

I'd rather get 60 faith or int for buff, and only meet minimum requirement for weapon, and then raw infuse it.

Crystal enchant and darkmoon blade is exact the same. Same dmg and same dmg type(magic)

Lightningblade does same amount of dmg, but lightning dmg(duh)

Its really just ur choice.

And i know nothing about pyromancy

120 gives me darkmoon summons every twenty minutes or so.

Vinyltavia, a guy who frequently is on discussion often opens darkmoon fightclub at sl 30~50 at halfway fortress.

i often run darkmoonblade fightclubs at sl120 as well, but not these days due to blooddamnshades ruining it

just use darkmoon at sl of where people(twinkers) invade a lot

sl 35~
sl 75~

since hosts will equipe way of blue when they get invaded.

higher, i dont really see people doing pve actively.

Oh I can, I've been doing the math for 2 straight days and got the required level without stat boost rings.

basically the right sl for each area of the game.

highwall/settlement sl20-30+2-3

woods, farron, cathedral sl 40+4

pontiff before and after sl 55+6 to sl70+8

lothric castle, archives and archdragon sl80+10

(approximations from mine/people I knows success)

after Pontiff and farron aren't actually that great (imo) because darkmoons don't get summoned for aldrich/farron invasions

or go to sl120 and that's just about every area in the game for people in ng+

Well actually darkmoon do get summoned for aldritch faithful, it's the only reason to equip darkmoon vs blue sentinels.
Jendex Sep 21, 2016 @ 11:32am
Darkmoon Blades can be summoned to any area regardless of where they are. I've been walking around Farron Keep and been summoned to the Great Belfry. For some reason they have a very low summon priority, though... So even though you can get summoned anywhere you rarely do.

"Note that summoning will prioritize the area that you are in, but will summon you anywhere after an indeterminate amount of time has passed."

For those who would disagree, as it is a controversial topic, the above quote is taken from Fextra's wiki.

*this is just in case anyone was wondering*

are you certain there's no dark spirits in your world? because in hundreds of hours I only get a darkmoon if a red/purple/sunbro comes in, if farron or aldrich comes in no darkmoons.

also, if there's a red + 1 cov invader and a blue comes in, if they kill the red they get sent home leaving the cov invader. if they kill the cov invader they can stay and kill the red.

"Inexplicably Blades of the Darkmoon will NOT be summoned to protect a player against invading Aldrich Faithful defending Anor Londo or Watchdogs of Farron in the swamps."
