Any lore on the women of Boreal Valley?

There are so many of them. Always in dark, dank places. They are pretty much skeletons. They are wearing chains and stuff. So.. what is the story behind these women? Are they even women? I keep trying to google it but apparently nobody has thought of them or simply nobody has any info on them. Thoughts?

They're Irithyllian slaves, we don't have much info on them

Obviously slaves to the upperclass people of lothric.

All I know is that they're thralls serving under the armed forces of Irithyll (they're seen often near Fire Witches and Pontiff Knights) and aid them im battle and possibly used to be forced to work for generally other higher classes (since they're often chained and some seem amputated below their knees too, maybe a punishment or just so they can't escape maybe?)
They're adept at using sorceries as some of them use soul arrow and invisibility spells as well as magic-buffed Claymores
They seem to like to "eat"(?) Blood Gems (Their description states "...slurped by the slaves of Irithyll)
They also produce the blue bug pellets because they're abundant in Irithyll and thus can serve a purpose
And lastly they secretly worship Yorshka's Spear, so perhaps they worship her herself too?

At least that's all I can tell apart from that they're obviously hollow too (judging by their looks) so they're just as cursed as many others
