How do you Fight the Old Demon King?

I'm currently stuck on the Old Demon King on my second character, which is a pyromancer. I have been struggling to do any real damage to him, and if I attempt close range combat I get combo'd to death by his fire vomit and fire bomb thing. What do I do?

DOn't get hit by his combo, of course. xD His fight is either have high-enough DPS to do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of damage to him, or, you learn his attacks and only attack once or twice before rolling away to avoid bein ghit. He's stupidly easy to fight, if you just try to avoid getting hit, rather than eat attacks so you can r1 spam. xD

EDIT: He's also very weak to Dark damage, for some reason, if you have any Human Pine Resin. Also, the Black Knight weapons deal 20% more damage to him, for some reason, so use that, too!

He's very weak against Black Knight weapons. Black Knight Greatsword, Black Knight Sword, Halberd etc.

I found this guy extremely easy, always stay behind him, dodge attacks, rinse repeat..

The Black Knights were once Silver Knights before their armor became charred after fighting the demons. It makes sense that their weapons deal extra damage against their greatest enemy.

you can sumon the great swamp coculus to bait him and use a heavy crosbow, it worked for me, or if you have good int, use sorcery in this battle.

On my last char that is a pyro too i used Black fireballs. Is kinda weak to dark damage and with that you can take some advantage

it's also weak to poison and toxic; heck just use a crossbow.

I ended up with an ally and he gave me room to do some casting, I just could not escape his melee combos when I was solo fighting. Anywho problem solved.

I just took my time dealing damage with 1 or 2 hits then stepping back. He is a challenging boss in my opinion.
