best melee weapon as pyro

I guys what weapon should i go with as a pyro ? i have read that the dark sword should be crazy with int Is this the best or ?

Early game it doesn't particularly matter since most weapons won't be able to take advantage of scaling for all the stats you need to put into pyro builds, later on the Astora Greatsword, Carthus Curved Greatsword and Murakumo are all excellent choices because they have excellent scaling that will exceed buffs on a Dark or Chaos infusion. Witch's Locks(very late game) or an infused rapier make for good secondary melee weapons. Very late game Lorians greatsword is in my opinion by far the best choice and will benefit greatly from a Pyro build's scaling, you can get damage exceeding 1000 easily with it.

That's from my experience mainly playing pyro builds anyway.

EDIT: There are a good few weapons like Dark Sword, Onikiri/Ubadachi, Exile Curved Sword that don't have as good scaling as the others I mentioned but they have good base damage and are still a solid choice. Also, Int scaling swords like moonlight and greatsword of judgement are very viable with pyro builds.
One other thing worth mentioning, Crystal chime is awesome with pyros for doing miracles and sorceries.

CCS for sure. Bait people with Black Serpent and punish with either Black Flame or Carthus. Crystal Chime is also an interesting idea for an all round caster build.

Agree with what you're saying here but if you're not putting any stats in strength or dex with a pyro build and only minimum requirements for a weapon you're still better off infusing with chaos or dark.I tested this myself with a very late game build that has 40 int & faith to meet the damage cap for pyromancies and 26 strength, 18 dex. I had a +10 refined Astora greatsword as well as +10 dark & chaos infused versions. Even with any kind of buffs and taking split damage into consideration, the infused Astora still does better damage.

This only applies for weapons that have A scaling with chaos or dark infusions though like the Astora Greatsword, any other weapons spell buffs or resins will surpass infusion damage on a pyro build.

I've used the dark sword for two things. It's sweet weapon fierce and the stomp weapon art that takes advantage of the block and strike.
It's even got a stab on rolling attacks which isn't shabby at all. The disadvantage are the stats but it's honestly a good sword. It's just that scrubs flock to it for its ease of R1 use.
