Old King's Antechamber too hard.

So far i have been going fine, beating all the bosses on my first, second or third attempt but am now stuck here. Those 4-armed fire witches take around 2 full bars of stamina with my Wolf Knight Greatsword +2 to kill and kill me in 2 shots of the flamethrougher and 5 small fireballs. The next area has 3 or those weird zombie horn things that also take a full bar of stamina to kill. EACH. And kill me in just a few hits. Oh, and they have shields, and are fast AF. And the camera does't like it as it is such a small room. I can also barely ever see because of the poison mist. I just get hit up against the wall and pummeled by two of them when i can't even see and die almost instantly.

There's only one boss in that area, the Old Demon King. Also the Black Knight Sword is hands-down better than the Wolf Knight GS.

SL means "Soul Level," which means "level" in normal RPG lingo.

what SL are you? also had a SL 8 running that area with red hilted hilebard once dodge hit repeat

It means "G I T G U D" or "allocate your stats better"

How is the black knight sword better than the wolf knight GS? It has a little bit more damage but way worse scalling. Also, what does perseverance DO?

Notes & Information
Poise and defense are raised as long as skill is in effect.
Seems to reduce damage by about 50%.
Lasts for nearly 6 seconds for Great Hammers, and 4 seconds for the others.
Best used to guarantee that you come out on top poise-wise in an exchange of blows. Popping it and then laying into an enemy without regard for defence is an extremely effective tactic.

Those floating fireball conjurers are as sh oles indeed. If you find it hard to explore the area, use ember and summon NPC to help you. There are two NPC you can summon in the area and they will keep following you. One is in front of boss gate, and the other one is near the bonefire close to boss gate. Note that you won't see their summon signs if you have defeated Demon King.
