Completed everything yet Ariandel Chapel passageway won't open

The title, basically.

I think I completed every area of the DLC but there's nothing left to do. I defeated the pyromancer and the gravelord and got tired of trying to figure out what I have to do next so I read guides and watched videos and they did literally the same and a passageway opens in Ariandel Chapel for them but not for me. What am I missing?

Did you activate the spin lever on the floor infested with the bugs. Down below the chapel bonfire.

In the pit of flies beneath the chapel, on the backmost pillar on the left side as you enter is a crank, turn it.
