[SPOILERS] Complaining about new DLC enemies!
"Worse than Cathedral Knights" is a sentence that should never be said. Here's the method for killing Millwood Axe Knights.

1.) Pray to all the gods he doesn't use his warcry.
2.) Cry as he perfectly tracks you while you sprint in circles in futility then get combo'd to death.

So far I've only seen nasty bird people and guys who throw blades at you. Oh, and there's the wolves too.

They are pretty easy to circle around. Obviously you're going to get hit if you just run away, from the attack that chases you and staggers you.

Dmmon. What part of "Circle Around Him" don't you get? He can pivot 180 degrees on the charge. That's just stupid. Also, Millwood Greatbow Knights can fire TWO arrows in a single second. They don't even animate drawing the bow back, they just suddenly launch a second one.

Also, Kolaghan, those blade throwers are completely insane. They have a charge that ignores level geometry, their blades do more damage than Millwood Greathammers, and they do the Rapier Weapon Art as a basic attaqck.

havent you heard of magical bows that fire more than once...=)

I'm enjoying them all but the forest of tree women with fire missile swarm launching them at you is a tad frustrating

How many hits they take you to kill them? I am able to get three hits in on fire trees for the kill before they really do anything. The frost ones I hit twice and roll away because they generally try to grab me after the second hit instead of spitting frost.

The flame and spear throwers die in two hits so I just run up and hit them, the swords all i need is a roll and backstab (I rarely circle, not my style..im a roller).

The bigs guys later on have me worried through. Killed a few but they almost one shot me with the axe uppercut attack.

I just parry those guys. Thier indications of light and heavy attacks are easy to see.

I was conditioned to never parry for any reason ever by the rest of the game, Farkon. It actually works here? They don't suddenly Dark Hand you or freak out and flail or explode or something like everyone else you'd want to do it to?

It gets particulary brutal in the tower because of spacing.

It's easy if you equip a greatshield and circle around very very close to the knights, like hugging them while you cirlce them. Most of the time you will be able to backstab them or at least hit twice with your weapon after they are done with thier small attack combos. If you are too low on stamina roll away to recover. After a while I got used to this strategy and find them easy to kill.

You can lure them out of the tower or hit from a safe distance with ranged weapons or spells

Easier strategy, just use Rapport on them and watch as they snipe the other Millwood knights for easy pickings.

Yeah, that's my plan, Poljanan. After I deal with Sir "I Can Swing An Ultra Greatsword Five Times And One Shot With The Dark Hand's Useless Alt Fire While You're Dodge" Wilhelm.

I would turn my back and as he comes in I swing away with my greatsword. He has what seems to be very little poise and I can hit him until im out of stamina. I walk away, stam comes back and i wait for him to come at me again for the same thing. Beat him with just that.

Oh yeah, I just hacked him to bits with a Scythe. Like most enemy NPCs, he's completely unable to deal with Bleed, even with his outlandishly high bleed resistance. When he managed to get a heal off, I just whacked him one more time and he lost a third of his HP. Is the Onyx Sword any good by the way? I was thinking of using it, but then again I might just use a Dark Drakeblood Sword.
