Season pass doesn't give me the DLC

Ive never paid attention to what season passes are but i decided to get it for this game.
I was under the impression that the season pass means i get teh DLC for "free" but based on the description i get it for a discounted price?

Is this correct? Is this how season passes work?

Owning it means you own all the dlc; it just isn't out yet.

First one releases in like...8 hours I think

That's very strange. I got the season pass but did not have the DLC. So I just bought it and yes, it was discounted.

Check the game in your library. It should list the DLC you have with a ticked box.
I bough the season pass, so have the Season Pass and Ashes of Ariandel listed with a tick. You should have the same?

When the Season Pass says 'get the two DLCs at a discounted price' (or something along those lines), it means that is what you are doing by buying the season pass, since it's basically a bundle. You're not just paying to have that option!

You can't even buy the DLC if you already have the Season Pass. You can buy it "as a gift", but you cannot buy it for your library. Steam won't even let you, as your library has it flagged that you own the DLC already via the Season Pass.

Well that wasn't the case for me. I did buy the season pass and I did have to buy the DLC. I thought it was fine since the season pass said all it did was give a discount on the DLC.

Why did you buy the dlc if you have season pass? Discount means that buying season pass is 5€ cheaper than buying both dlc's. It didn't give you the dlc because dlc wasn't released yet.
