DARK SOULS™ III

DARK SOULS™ III

The DLC Only has 3.5 Hours of Gameplay
Just watched a stream of Oroboro finishing the main questline for the DLC in about 3.5 hours. To say the least, I am disappointed, but I'm really glad that I waited to see what it was all about before wasting $15 bucks. It looked fun, but not $15 fun, and definitely not $25 for the season pass. I recommend you wait for a sale, unless you absolutely must have the new weapons NOW. If you are into PvP I guess the new Arena will be good for you, but I don't play PvP anymore, so for people like me this DLC is not an instabuy. Hopefully the second DLC that's due in February has more content. When it goes on sale, I might give it a go, but in the meantime, there are other things to play! If you get the DLC, I hope you enjoy it, but man, I'm kinda burned with the way modern games handle these types of things.

Yeah.... don't list some generic shetsite to try to prove a point that's wrong.
Oroboro beating Ariandel in 3.5 hours = Oroboro beating Artorias in 3.5-4.5.
What are you talking about? What´s next? We cant trust in Rotten tomatoes? Metacritic? Some other ♥♥♥♥♥♥ website?

You cited a very credible source. Don't take that guy seriously.

Artorias of the abyss was 10hrs and DLC for DS2 was at least 7-8 hrs each.
What? That's rediculosu over exagguration. Artorias of the Abyss was straight up tiny. Most people got lost and forgot how big the area actually was. Sunken and Iron King are also absolutely tiny, and can be ran from start to finish in MINUTES.

I think you're forgetting the fact that people might actually fight everything and explore, rather than just run to the end. Yeah, Skyrim can be speedran in 90 minutes, but that's not a good way to gauge the time of the game because only a small handful of people will choose to play like that. I mean, I took around 12 hours for Artorias of the Abyss because a) that ♥♥♥♥ was hard for me b) I got lost a lot c) I took my time.

If you look at howlongtobeat.com, you will see that Artorias has an average playtime of 8 hours. A rushed playtime of 5 hours, and a leisurely playtime of 11 hours.
Only one boss from Artorias of the Abyss took me forever to beat.

And that boss still haunts me to this day. KALAMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET

lmao, like hell it was.
Unless you reaaaaaly took your time with it.

Yes it is. About 8 hours combined

That's a real shallow sample size though

I beat AoA in about 2 flat. It's a fairly linear path all the way to manus.

I found Kalameet to be pretty damn easy.
It's not just about getting the content. I bought the season pass because I like their work, and I want to support them. I never buy games so that I can play it, I always buy it so the devs get support. And diversity is always welcome.

And it's a known fact that this DLC is more about PvP and the next one will be more about PvE.

Yeah.... no he didn't.
Now, you said Orobrobo uploaded videos of himself playing through the new DLC in 3.5 hours.
He's experienced with the game and he knows what to do.
How long do you think it took him to beat the Artorias DLC?
I don't want to see your "average player reported playtime" bullshet, because the average player is downright awful.

The Bloodborne DLC didn't look that appealing.

So... you have bad taste in content.
Fair enough.
Bloodborne's DLCs had easily the best bosses From has made in this series yet.
Unless the new DLCs deliver even better, I would hope.
Dark Souls 2's DLCs were nothing short of amazing.

As for the discussion going on for the DS2 and 1 DLCs, I really enjoyed both. IMO the DS2 DLCs were better than the vanilla game in all aspects.
But still, as Hatton said, small, unless you took your time going through them.

You probably play a lot more video games than the average player, then. I found it confusing, awkward and nonlinear. The only linear part for me was the very black area with all the humanity enemies leading up to Manus. Other than that, I got lost in the forest a lot and the Oolacile Township or whatever the main area was called.

I think you're just being contrary, at this point.

The DLC also contains arguably one of the best bosses ever. I wouldn't say that's too bad.

Nah. I get he's a very hard boss for most people. But by that time, I'd already killed Sinh, who's basically a much faster and harder damaging version of Kalameet.

And you forgot that Ivory King was long only because you had to beat it 2 times per playtrought. And it had one of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ areas with the cheapest design boss ever (well, the cheapest is smelter 2, but using alva and duplicating it was cheap too).
