bird nest in the shrine
how important is that for the questlines? do i need to get this conversation with this bird lady before doing a boss?

The Bird Nest in Dark Souls III is simply to exchange items with it by leaving the right item one at a time to the nest. There is a list online about which items to trade and what to get from them in case you are interested, here :
