Pyromancer against Midir
Just managed to finally kill Midir as a pyromancer, which is the worst build to have against this boss. Leaving this here for advice.

When choosing a weapon, physical damage is the most important aspect. Midir is resistant against dark, fire and is even resistant against lightning (despite some online resource suggesting otherwise). My weapon of choice was Lothric Knight Sword +10 with a Blessed infusion. This way the sword has D, C and S scaling with Strength, Dexterity and Faith, respectively, my stats in these being 15, 18 and 40 respectively. This gave me around 330 Physical damage. When hitting Midir, I would deal around 200-220 damage, which is pretty good compared to my other options (Chaos/Dark infused weapons or Fire/Dark magic, all of which suck against Midir; my Faith and Int are each 40 and still all my spells suck against Midir, even Boulder Heave)

I had to learn Midir's moveset and understand how to dodge him and when to punish. I would always do 1-2 hits max to his head in the safe moments, never more than that.

In order to speed up the fight, I also used the Pestilent Mist spell to drain away Midir's health. The spell works as a % of his health, which is convenient considering how much HP he has. That being said, using Pestilent Mist was not always so straightforward, because in my fight Midir would often change positions and recasting it was not always easy as you don't get an opportunity so often (it's slow to cast and you are opening yourself for punishment). The bulk of the damage still had to be done with the sword.

Anyway, it's done now. Here's hoping this info will be useful to other people. Cheers.

I find pyromancer easiest build to play against any boss, but particularly Midir.

Pestilent Mist and Blessed or Lightning infused weapon melts him
even on NG+7 with zero problems.

Good thing I decided to have 26 strength and 40 dexterity on my caster character since I got sick of my previous 24 attunement pyromancer build and respecced. No matter what I'm up against, I'll probably be able to just beat it up like any non-caster would now

No chance I'll be able to use Boulder Heave for a while now, though, because I instead made Havel's Ring the instant I got the stray demon's soul

I tried boulder heave and I could barely scratch him. The damage was very small. And I have 40 Int and 40 Faith. Maybe these attributes are not high enough?

How small? Did you use the witch, swamp and lloyd-sword rings? It's also a good idea to use flynn ring with it if you have enough HP to tank the big attacks.

Don't remember exactly. Something less than 100. I was using the witch and swamp rings yes, but not the lloyd and flynn rings.

Anyway, it's done now, but I will keep it in mind for a future run. Although I will probably not play pyro again, but try another build.

Thanks for the suggestions.

That is correct... with this setup BH can hit for 900 damage per cast (provided that you hit its head).

Yeah, maybe by mistake it did not hit its head and I jumped to the wrong conclusions.
