The Twin Princes are a dumb and annoying boss
Lorewise the idea of Prince Lothric resurrecting Lorian when he "dies" might be cool to some people but mechanically it's annoying and a cheap way to make a fight last longer. And how is it that Lothric has so much defense? He's a emaciated weakling wearing robes that offer almost no physical protection. My character is a strength build with 40 strength and a +10 Heavy Greatsword. I should be doing a lot more damage to Lothric imo. I also have enough vitality to fast roll with my +5 Havel's Greatshield, which helps a lot when fighting Lorian/Lothric. Here are two screenshots of my character (with stats included):

Idk why he has such high damage absorption (or just such high hp). He should be much weaker (therefore having much less hp) and it's balanced by it being hard to hit Lothric when he's on Lorian's back. I truly hate this boss.

But the thing is hitting him once with heavy attack makes sure you do not get greedy and punished. I use that on my first run with build similar to yours, difference is i use yhorm's great machete

I recommend getting rid of the big sword and farm for the winged knight twin axes. Infuse it with heavy gem and use it 2 handed. Don't dorget to upgrade it to atleast +8. You can hide behind the shield and when It's safe two hand the weapon and use RMB twice and then block again.

Just keep hitting lorian , his hp goes down everytime he dies so you can chain kill him at some point

This character and build is pretty simple. He likes big swords, and he hits things with his big sword. If I don't use a greatsword of some kind then he's just a generic strength build who switches weapons randomly. I'd prefer to stick to the ME BIG MAN, ME HIT THINGS WITH BIG SWORD roleplay, lol. Maybe one day I'll use the Winged Knight Twin Axes though.

This is true, but I swear it feels like Lothric gets more angry and more aggressive every time Lothric resurrects him. After Lorian died once (after the second phase change cutscene) I used up the rest of my estus and then died to one of Lothric's soul spears. The problem is that Lorian is too fast for me at times and taking damage from him is inevitable for me. Also he often teleports as i'm healing, so then I wasted an estus because I take damage as he teleports over to me. The teleporting mechanic is the second worst thing about that fight.

Should pump str to 66 imo for the max damages.

If this is NG and you upgraded your weapon to max, I don't know what to say. It shouldn't be any different from any other boss, you just gotta knock em over a couple times. Lorian has way less HP in phase 2 than phase 1, and Lothric piggybacking him just means you wanna aim your hits for his backside more to land hits on both of them.

The teleport has some bogus followups, that air dunk is kinda bull to try to react to.

I can't really help you then , for me it was just learning the pattern the first time around and after that it kinda got easy , I could recommend a weapon if you want to risk it , Dragonslayer greataxe.
Just spam the WA and hit both of them at the same time for some insane damage.
But gs should be good enough too , I did plenty princes with it.
Also what lvl is your estus?

It cost me almost 60,000 souls to level up once and no matter what place I farm souls at it takes way too damn long to get a lot of souls. Like If I spend a few minutes clearing the Grand Archives I could get between 115,000 and 150,000 souls, but it's kind of tedious clearing that level (the 3 Golden Winged Knights included). I could also farm the Silver Knights, but they only drop around 3,500 souls every time with the Shield of Want and Covetous Silver Serpent Ring equipped (I didn't get the Symbol of Avarice to drop from any of the mimics for some reason).

TL;DR How on earth could I go from 40 to 66 strength when farming souls is such a slow and tedious process?

I ate the Dragonslayer Armor's soul a long time ago, so the Dragonslayer Great Axe is not an option. Plus, that's a strength-faith weapon right? So even if I still had that soul idk if I could use that weapon. My estus is maxed out (+10 estus with 15 chugs).

You could farm JUST the golden trio on the roof , I could do it in about 2 mins and they give plenty of souls , then just use the coiled sword or a bone to get back to bf

Your STR build is similar to mine, but you seem to have excessive points in vitality if you want to do more damage? Try reallocating vit to ~41, str +14. At sl 120, I can still wear siegward's armour with greatsword, or equip ledo's hammer with lighter armour (and knight ring).

Better off being less armoured and more mobile (Stamina!) for the twins, as you can usually only get one hit in safely between dodges.

Mostly, just learn the bosses moves and how to counter. :)

It has no faith req and almost no faith scaling , it's almost pure str.

It's not necessary in NG to level past like 80 anyway, but if you're running an all str build, I think you should aim for 66str. Clearing through NG+ you'd inevitably get there.

If you really wanna farm souls, I think the sneks at ADP bonfire are the best source.

I guess I'll do that. I gave the Coiled Sword Fragmetn to the Pump-a-rum birds at Firelink Shrine because in case any one of you don't know this, they give you a Titanite Slab if you give them the Sword Fragment. So yeah, I'll just use a homeward bone.

Well if you truly want some good help you could try to record the fight , that's the easiest way for us to see if you are doing something wronge or to give you more tips etc.
But sonner or later you will just do it.

Was it really worth it tho? the sword fragment is a neat thing to have so you never run out of bones
