Best off-hand crossbow?

I use heavy crossbow as an offhand for my assassin cosplay. its a nice looking piece of kit with good damage

Is avelyn not good anymore?

The damage per shot and range of Avelyn are fairly poor and landing all three shots isn't all that common. It excells against large targets with Splintering Bolts, though. Gael's crossbow is similar, low damage per shot, rapid but inaccurate.

Depends on a) your Strength and b) your leftover weight load.

If you're in an area with lots of water (i.e. Roads of Sacrifices), a Knight Crossbow with Lightning Bolts can be superb due to the extra AoE. But so is an Avelyn tbh.

Arbalest requires 18 strenght and it does 300 damage with one hit. I'm sticking with it.
