Daggers
How are daggers in DS3? I never really used one as a main weapon, but i am thinking about giving the twin daggers a go. Also should i buff with mage weapon?

Daggers are generally used either as a critical tool or as a dueling weapon. The Corvian Greatknife, Murky Handscythe, and Harpe are all very strong PvP weapons. They do well buffed, and generally have their hardest matchup against small curved swords.

the range of the twindaggers basically kills any sort of practical use that it has, plus the fact that it doesn't have the thrust attack that other daggers have when 2 handed to compensate for it. daggers are really good for riposting and backstabbing because of their increased crit multiplier. try off-handing it but i wouldn't recommend using one as a main weapon.

The only reason to use daggers would for switching after a parry. Higher crit means if you build it right you can do a ton of damage, probably one shot with a hornet ring.

You can main harpe, corvain, or murky quite easily.

the harpe's AR is a joke and the murky hand scythe's scaling makes it a very niche weapon. the corvian greatknife has a D scaling for both strength and dexterity even after being infused with refined, and at 272 AR on a quality build, i have no clue why you'd even bother.

To get damage on those weapons you have to buff them, I stay away from murky as it's too meta for me personally, but beat people with both harpe AND corvian today, several times, I only use daggers on really annoying people, otherwise they get my Gotthard sword + estoc.

Daggers are best for the moveset and in harpe's and murky's case, they're best of their class due to their straight sword hit stun.

That is no excuse honestly, other weapons can be buffed too.

Fast weapons are nice to apply status effects, but for that you need to hit, they have low range for PvP so it's not happening unless you fighting noobs.

You'll have better success with Swords, which are also fast and good to apply status effects, plus have higher range.

Daggers are mostly used for critical damage as others stated.

You clearly never pvp'd then. Please don't talk about the 3 best daggers in the game like you know what you're on about.

The aquamarine dagger from ringed city is a fun weapon

Please dont talk if you don't even have a clue of pvp, Murky and Harpe are literally the strongest melee weapons in the pvp along with pkcs lmao, corvian is also one of the strongest pvp weapons, the fact their AR doesn't go high as a straight sword AR doesn't mean they're not good. Smh randoms

I like the old boring Bandit Knife. Upgraded, uses minuscule stamina and can make people BLEEEEED lol

wrong, I've never pvp'd with daggers as my main weapon before. I don't tend to buff so I just number crunch AR and statistics. what a stupid assumption

I pvp with a cisgender dagger all the time it's fantastic

Daggers are hell on earth to fight if you are using a heavy weapon and your opponent spams quickstep. As said before they're nice if you have a parry tool. The twindaggers in particular aren't especially great though.
