If they released his notes but didn't continue Berserk, it would be really similar to how Mark Laidlaw (the creator of the Half Life games) released his story called "Epistle 3" which was basically the plot of what would have been Half Life 3 (;_;) just with character names changed. It provided at least some closure for some Half Life fans. Reading Miura's notes could provide some closure for Berserk fans, if they don't just continue Berserk.
I actually am fine either way. For me it did end with his life. I would def buy though, wouldn't if someone else wrote it.

For Berserk though I think its different than half life. Half life itself was a very impersonal story in itself. Berserk was a deep study on a single man's journey through life.
I didn't mean to compare Half Life with Berserk. I just was using it as an example of how progress for something that fans loved was halted out of nowhere (except I think it was a more drawn out process for Half Life [3]) and something was done to give fans closure.

Grab up a Greatsword and salute. Dark Souls just wouldn't have been the same without Miura.

I don't feel comfortable playing Dark Souls 3 online right now because of that new hack/exploit that was discovered, but I'm going to make a Guts build in his honor in Dark Souls 1 and Dark Souls 2 (SOTFS). Maybe I'll do one in Dark Souls 3, but it won't be the same since I'll be offline.

Dude is a master of his craft, sad to see him go.

Kind of like how every land in the Dark Souls universe collided with eachother in Dark Souls 3 (the Ringed CIty dlc).

Rest in peace. He was one of my favorite artists of all time. The fact that people are talking about him on a Dark souls 3 forum and his name trending in German Twitter shows that he has fans all over the world and that he inspired a lot of people with his art including the Souls franchise.

2Man takes up the sword to protect the small injuries that burdened his heart, on a distant day beyond his memories.
Man wields the sword to die with a smile on his face, on a distant day beyond his dreams." - Miura

Rest, friend, if I may call you so.

man, the news hits like a truck. Hell I don't even care if berserk continues or ends now. All I know is that the world lost a good man and a amazing artist.

The cause of death was some heart problems , probably caused due to stress and overwork
Judging from his interviews, this most likely it. Its pretty much just the typical Japanese work-ethics. A lot of deaths from Japan usually stems from being overworked. They even have a term for companies that overwork their employees.

Some people are saying that Miura didn't even get any days off and that the Covid pandemic was the only time he actually got some days off.
Kain 22/mai./2021 às 13:17
I think he was having health issues even before, those long hiatus would probably be evidence to that. I don't think he in particular was victim of those practices. I get it's rampant in Japan and definitely wrong, but I don't think it's the case with him.
